Narration is very important.

When I read these stories, I enjoyed them very much rating all three of them at 4 stars. Unfortunately the narrator, Samantha Cook, ends every sentence in a way that was a complete detraction for me. I will not listen to another book that she reads.

Well Worth Your Time

Now, one of my favorite authors

I first discovered Mr Doucette's work with The Spaceship Next Door. I was intrigued so I bought The Immortal and continued to Fixer. I am hooked.
His works are diverse and original. There is a thrilling action that combines with a little horror as well as what are pleasant moments of being with sometimes quirky characters. I am messing this up horribly, sorry.
Anyway, I have joyfully gotten to add a new automatic-buy-favorite-author to my list.

What does Jennifer Grace bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I enjoyed her phrasing and timing. I thought she made Jane sound like a little girl too often.
Any additional comments?
I read the kindle version first and thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to listen to it as well. I was enjoying the audio version until I started experiencing some issues. Right at the beginning of chapter 6, the audio dropped out in several places. Later, the volume dropped substantially and then came back. I listened using the audible app (both Apple & Android versions). I also deleted the book & re-loaded it with no joy. This has nothing to do with the story and I rated my feelings about the book, not the technical problems
