Historia
When I—along with my best friend and his big purple monster boyfriend—come across a fortress-like raider camp while journeying across the monster-infested Wastes, we stop to deliver a message. Somehow, that simple pit stop turns into a seemingly impossible quest to get this camp's missing leader out of the prison where he's being held and forced to fight monsters and other humans. I know exactly where it is because I've been there. Problem is, I'm making this journey with the prickliest and most arrogant guy I've ever met, who seems to hate me on sight. Oh, and he's also half-monster.

My favorite in the series so far!! - easy 5 stars
Revisado: 10-21-23
Solid 5 stars in my eyes. This has been the surprise series for me. Never would I have predicted my love for this series. I picked book 1 to his a challenge prompt. And I have devoured each audiobook as they are released. This is hands down my favorite in the series so far. I felt this one. I got nervous in this one. I cried FFS. In a monster book! I didn't think Danny & Wyn would be dethroned, but move over beastie, I have a new favorite!!
I saw a comment that rings so true for me. The world building is simple, but so rich and just so wonderfully done.
And, I will admit, I didn't like the voice for Moth early in the book. But, in short order, I settled into it and got used to it. Then I realized it actually fit the character so well. By the end of the book, I LOVED the voice created for Moth. And Charlie - both voice & character? *chef's kiss*
Ok... I'm done fan-girling for now.

Historia
After years of estrangement from his parents, Nick is finally going home for Christmas, but not without backup. He wants moral support, so his best friend and flatmate, Jackson, agrees to pretend to be his partner, so he can go with him. It’s easy for Jackson to be convincing when his feelings for Nick are as genuine as ever. He put his crush on the back burner long ago, but acting out a role he’d love to play for real is harder than he imagined.

Very solid 4 stars overall - sweet romance
Revisado: 11-27-21
This was such a sweet story overall, but one that packed a punch with some "feels" too. While it was a bit on the short side, it still had enough time to see a friendship grow into love. I'll cut the MCs a little slack in being slow to share their feelings because of their age and total fear of losing their best friend. But, this is one of my favorite tropes, so I enjoyed the journey.
I was worried that the family drama might overshadow the romance itself, but I think both parts were needed in order for it to work overall. The setup wouldn't have worked without the initial family dynamics, and Nick probably wouldn't be ready for a healthy relationship without addressing the past.
Hamish Long was a wonderful as always. I do love this narration and attention to detail in making all the voices sound distinct. It's easy to listen and never lose track of who's talking. I appreciate that so much in voice actors.

For lovers of epilogues, this one is for you (assuming you do book 1 and 2 first). This was like a super long, sweet epilogue. We got the HFN at the end of book 2. This book showed them in their public & out relationship and putting in the work to get their HEA. The epilogues (of an epilogue book) was just the icing on the cake for an epilogue lover!
The narration was just sublime.

Historia
On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that's going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he's sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché.

All the stars. Loved this wild ride!
I didn't see this one coming. I don't even know what to say about it. It started out as an homage to Strangers on a Train, and then took some twisty turns and I loved each and every one of them.
Well written, well structured and unpredictable in most of the important parts. This one shouldn't be missed by anything who likes thrillers. It's not a super fast paced one, but it's intelligently put together.

Revisado: 06-29-21
Wow, what a ride. I thought this book in the series was a tight, strong story. While the 1st person POV for Gentry's character only was a little jarring at first, I actually ended up liking it. I felt like I got to know him a little better, inside his quirks & thinking more so than a 3rd person view allows.
I hesitated a bit when rating & giving a review for this. I wasn't happy with the ending. But, the more I thought about it, the more I realized Gentry wasn't either. And that fact calmed me down a bit about it. I don't want to say why or in regards to who since it's nearly impossible to do that without giving away some spoilers.
All in all, I think this was a really strong book in the series. Back Blast is still my favorite, but this is a really close 2nd place.
And of course, great narration. The voice acting just helps elevate an already great story.

I'm continuing to really like this series. I like Tracey Crosswhite no-nonsense character! I definitely will be continuing with this series.
I will admit... but trying not to give any spoilers away, that after liking most of the book, I thought I was about to be majorly disappointed when close to the ending, only to have some twists happen and make me really enjoy the story by the time it finished! Can't ask for much more than that in this genre.

I didn't know this one was loosely related to her Someday, Someday book. I really liked this one even though I don't normally gravitate towards books with high schoolers.
All in all, this gut wrenching book crept in my heart along with both main characters. Their HEA was hard-earned and well deserved.
The narration was good, although sometimes it was hard to differentiate which character was speaking.

Historia
Do you believe in love at first sight? Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.

solid 3 star story
Revisado: 05-15-21
Overall, I ended up liking this one. But I have to be honest, there were plenty of times where I almost decided to not finish it. The humor just wasn't for me and was distasteful sometimes. I'm the furthest thing from a prude, but, sometimes the humor just hit me the wrong way. So, for me, this was the kind of book where it took me nearly a week to finish it whereas I tend to consume books within a day. Once I got used to the over the top humor, the story and characters grew on me. But, the story was pretty light on the steam even though the humor would make you think it wouldn't be. I don't think I'll continue with the series though.

As much as i didn't care for Dante early on in this story, I ended up liking him afterall. I have an aversion to calling a grown ass man "boy", but I eventually got over it in this story. The story slowly pulled me in until I couldn't help but love it. Probably my favorite part was seeing two "alpha" type men let down their guard and be vulnerable and loving with each other.
I originally read this one, and since I liked it so much, I had to scoop it up once it was released as an audiobook. Loved it all over again!

There are a couple of reasons I shouldn't crush on Zach Stauff. 1. He's my big brother's best friend. 2. He's my roommate 3. He's straight. None of those things matter when I'm around him, and my heart starts beating like crazy. He's been the star of my wet dreams since forever, but to him, I'm just the kid who used to eat mudcakes. That is, until he walks in on me playing with a cucumber - without my clothes on. Worse, I was on camera streaming to an online audience when he witnessed the "cucumber incident".

This one snuck up on me. I wasn't crazy about the type of humor shown early on, but continued on with it. Also, to be fair, I listened to the audiobook and wasn't crazy about the narration itself. But, somewhere in the last few hours, the story pulled me in and I found myself rooting for the two main characters. So, all in all, I would recommend this one.
When it comes to the narration - I'm not really a fan of John Solo's mm romance narrations. He has a habit of making at least one (if not both) of the MCs sound a bit whiny and overly dramatic than what the text calls for. I'm sure this is just personal preference on my part. But because the humor in this book was already a tad over the top, the narration on top of that just made it a little worse for wear in my opinion. I think it just needed to be toned down some.
