Historia
Discovered at twelve years old, Madison Beer was one of the first artists to have her entire life documented online. Over the past decade, she has navigated the spotlight as a child, through her teenage years, and now as a young woman in her twenties. In The Half of It, Madison pulls back the curtain to show the behind-the-scenes of her journey, from reckoning with mass hate online and the time her private pictures were leaked, to battling suicidal thoughts while making her highly acclaimed debut album, Life Support, and her recovery since then.

Historia
In the first place, what do we mean by life? We mean that which we see, feel, hear, touch or taste, and the reason for it. We must have come into contact with all we know of life. We have already found what life is or we could not have had any of these experiences. In the beginning was God, or life. Out of this life which is, everything which is, is made. So life must flow through all things.

This story of raging comedy and despair centers on the tempestuous marriage of an heiress and a Vietnam veteran. From their "carpenter Gothic" rented house, Paul sets himself up as a media consultant for Reverend Ude, an evangelist mounting a grand crusade that conveniently suits a mining combine bidding to take over an ore strike on the site of Ude's African mission.

A brilliant YA
Revisado: 12-16-18
When the paranormal twist is introduced near the beginning of the novel, my jaw dropped and I became hooked. Information in this book is delivered at the perfect place throughout, and the descriptions are always beautifully vivid. I'm not a fan of YA novels, but this one really sticks with me. The concept really gets the mind going and the intricate infrastructure is meticulously built. This story is more than just great entertainment value, as it holds deep meaning toward the reflection of the human condition. The narrator also did a phenomenal job, and she is one of the best I have ever heard.

Enjoyable & Humorous
- De Camila Brianna Belbin en 07-19-19
Corny.
Revisado: 08-06-18
Silly, arbritrary nonsense does not equate to humor (example: one of the countries is named "Cookie Dough"). I thought this was a book for middle-school readers until Chapter 9, where the f-word is used at an unnecessary consistency.
Other small things in this book were very annoying:
-Impossibly as an adjective (impossibly sharp/annoying)
-Use of the word "multiverse" as something that can be shouted across
-The author's obsession with alcohol or randomly using 10,000 years as the universal unit for a long time.
The humor is stupid, arbitrary, and ultimately a waste of time.

Historia
A fire ignites a whirlwind of action and accusation in a swamp town that hasn't seen excitement since the big lottery win 12 years ago. Little does reporter Chloe Keyes know that when she sniffs around for clues, she'll end up facing her own demons while unsettling the very foundation of her hometown. Close calls with gators, crossbows, and armed felons lead to a startling conclusion, complete with illusion, chicanery, and the most divisive trick of all: cold, hard truth. Will Chloe's murky existence finally be clarified?

A beautiful example of prose
Revisado: 08-03-18
The descriptions of powerful emotions and scenery take the crown for Circled. The author is extremely skillful with her words and sentence structure. For example, she accomplished making a swamp sound beautiful. The author also includes subtle humor and clever lines, which is necessary for keeping the voice interesting. My favorite line, from near the beginning of the book is: "My adrenaline took an encore." Unfortunately, and every reader is different, I had trouble holding an interest in the plot. The skillful prose is what elevates this novel, but I didn't find myself to become invested in the plot until around the halfway point. With that being said, the ending is memorable and brilliantly executed.
