Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

The FMC made me abandon this one
Revisado: 04-28-25
I think I'm going to have to finish this as an actual read. I loved Anthony Palmini in this book but Stella Bloom ruined it for me :(
Too breathy, everything is dramatic, even when she's just stating mundane parts of the story. I was surprised I felt this way, reading all the reviews that highlighted the narration. But once I found a review thread on another site where many (most) reviews talk about how the FMC reading was hard to take, I knew it wasn't just me. If she'd read it more like people just normally talk, would've been a good read. But I kept trying to give it a go, tried changing the speed (someone said was a little better at 1.5). After slugging through to chapter 10, I give up.

Historia
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways. Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance.

Such a fun story, the narrators make it!
Revisado: 04-26-25
This is a great listen. The narrators are the best I've listened to in this genre and Jon Root is hilarious when he's voicing the FMC's part. This is my favorite storyline by Christina/Lauren, I can't count how many times I've re-listened just to put me in a good mood. It's thoughtful, heartfelt, very funny, sweet, heart breaking... all the feels.

Incredible! Great narration
Revisado: 04-26-25
What a great story, very unique and unexpected. Both narrators did a wonderful job with all voices. This story grabs you from the beginning and never lets you go till the very end. It's one of my favorite books to recommend to everyone.

Romance author Riley Cooper always dreamed of living by the water. But within a day of landing in the charming seaside town of Port Stewart to work on her latest book, she's getting calls and texts for some dude on her new number. Weird ones. Sad ones. Sexy ones. Ones that make her want to meet him. For curiosity's sake...if nothing else.

Couldn't finish it
Revisado: 10-10-24
After two hours in, I decided I couldn't waste more time that I wouldn't get back from listening to this. Zero chemistry between the main characters. The narration was okay for the female parts but the narrator didn't give Connor, the protagonist, any personality at all. I finally just didn't care what happened, not even enough to skip ahead to find out how it ended. Glad this was a free one.

Is it just me thinking the narration ruins it?
Revisado: 06-08-24
I’m nearly through the story but have been skipping ahead because both narrators are not good at other character’s voices. At all. Every man has a stilted, gravely, voice and any aged woman sounds like a witch. I’m unsure if I can listen to the other 3 books. Ugh

Historia
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Cute, fun story. Female narrator not good
Revisado: 06-01-24
This was a fun, cute story in the Abby Jimenez way of most of her books. I wish Teddy Hamilton had done both Josh and Christine's voices through the entire book though. Erin Mallon's narration in this one is "strange", her syntax stilted and her delivery is off. Which sucks because I was anxious to buy book two in this series,The Happy Ever After Playlist, because Zachary Webber is the male voice (the best!). But Erin is the female's read again! :(

The Author is a terrible narrator
Revisado: 07-12-22
First of all, this is a "sample" of the book and I'm so glad the narration of the full book is not by Dr. Weiss. He reads his own book so lackluster that I cannot believe it's his own work! Returned for the full book because I'm interested in the subject but I hope I can get the Dr's voice out of my head to actually believe what he has written.

I can't get past the narrator
Revisado: 04-10-22
This seems like an interesting story and I looked forward to the premise of it. But the narrator speaks in such "tortured" tones, even when speaking about every day, simple tasks. It's too much, too unnecessary, so I must return this title. I'll have to buy and read the physical book, I guess.
