Would you try another book from Ray Bradbury and/or Stephen Hoye?

From Ray Bradbury, yes; Stephen Hoye, no.

What could Ray Bradbury have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

It would be more enjoyable if there was a story. It seems like Bradbury wanted to be a Futurist more than he wanted to be an author on this one. His ideas are interesting and sort of accurate sometimes, but the story takes a backseat to his futuristic predictions. Most of it is just people sitting around talking. It's not really that interesting.

Would you be willing to try another one of Stephen Hoye’s performances?

No. His voice was very annoying and did not suit the character in this book at all. His voice was monotone and it seemed like he tried to overcompensate for that, making it sound annoying and distracting. He did not do a good job at accurately portraying the emotions and he couldn't perform the female characters with any believability. I think if anyone is interested in reading this book, it would be much more enjoyable the old fashioned way: on paper.

What about B. J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

I've read this story many times. Edgar Allen Poe is my favorite author. What makes this audio book so worth while is the amazing performance by B.J. Harrison. I've seen this story butchered many times by terrible acting but this was just brilliant. I imagine this is just how Poe pictured it as he wrote it.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

If you have never heard of the Red Letter Christians, this book will be a great introduction to who they are. If you follow the Red Letter Christians and are familiar with their theology, this book hardly scratches the surface. Don't expect to go deeper. There are more profound blogs on their website than what was discussed in this book. Don't get me wrong, there were about three parts that I thought made excellent points; however, if you are already aware of who the Red Letter Christians are, there really are no surprises in this book and you won't learn anything new from it.

Has Red Letter Revolution turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. Good or bad, right or wrong, I love studying religion.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators voices were pretty annoying but especially the guy doing Shane Claiborne's voice. It was so high pitched and whimsical. I think Tony Campolo and Shane Claiborne should have read this book themselves, since it is their dialogue.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Two people talking back and forth for over 7 hours? No.

What disappointed you about The Facebook Effect (excerpt)?

That it was forced on me

Any additional comments?

I'm tired of looking at this thing in my library. Get rid of it and don't install things in my account that I'm not interested in.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes and No. There are some fantastic and exciting moments in this book but it is really, really long. Sometimes it went on huge tangents and explained every mundane detail. I would say that if you have the patience to sit through the dull moments to read the very exciting ones, yes I recommend it to you. If you don't have the patience to get through the unnecessary details, you probably won't make it to the end of this one.

What about Craig Wasson’s performance did you like?

This performance was pretty brilliant for the most part. All the characters voices were very distinct and he really drew the emotion out of them. There were two characters that I thought he played poorly, but overall, he did a great job.

Do you think 11-22-63 needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. Too much detail to begin with. I don't need more.
