Even Stapledon's other great work, 'Last and First Men' pales in ambition next to 'Star Maker' which presents nothing less than an entire imagined history of life in the universe, encompassing billions of years.

Very thought-provoking.

It’s honestly hard to explain how I felt after listening to this story. If I could some it up in a word, I think ‘humbled’ would most nearly describe it. Satisfyingly so, to be sure, but my mind has definitely melted a bit. In a good way, though. I sort of felt the same way I did after seeing Inception for the first time.
Definitely recommend to fans of first contact/general alien encounter sci fi.
