The author makes you feel the story
Revisado: 03-07-25
This book was really good and at the same time it was missing something. I felt myself wanting to come back to the book over and over because the story was interesting but the books lacks the climatic point in the plot. The writing is amazing and the author paints the picture is a very good way. The descriptions used for everything are so good but even at the end I was left feeling like the book was missing something.

Historia
Whether taken as a book of faith or a cultural artifact, the New Testament is among the most significant writings the world has ever known, its web of meaning relied upon by virtually every major writer in the last 2,000 years. Yet the New Testament is not only one of Western civilization’s most believed books, but also one of its most widely disputed, often maligned, and least clearly understood, with a vast number of people unaware of how it was written and transmitted.

Very interesting but not based on ALL the facts
Revisado: 12-02-24
This is a very interesting book but as I am listening to it, I am realizing that Bart has not done all of the research necessary to come to his conclusions. Here is an example:
Bart referenced this: Jesus had a conversation with Nicodemus in which he said, you must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. The Aramaic has one meaning, the Greek has two meanings. In Greek it can mean you must be born from above or it can also mean you must crawl back into your mothers womb and be born again. Nicodemus was confused by this statement and asked how he could be born again, and how could he crawl back into his mothers womb?? However, there is only one word in Aramaic (which is what Jesus spoke) and in Aramaic it only has one meaning (to be born from above) so Bart concludes that the author of this biblical book must have added this statement in.
A quick fact check on his statement showed this:
- Aramaic actually has the phrase ܕܪܝܫ, which can mean either again or above. However, this also assumes they were speaking Aramaic. This isn't necessarily true. There are quite a few dialects of Aramaic. As you know, Jesus was known for his Galilean dialect. Nicodemus was not from there. He was a wealthy man who probably had a different accent. It's entirely possible Jesus and Nicodemus were speaking Greek to each other rather than making sense of their unique Aramaic dialects just to make it easier for both.
- To make this point that Jesus knew Greek: he spoke to the Syrophoenician woman, he spoke in Greek-dominant areas, and Jesus spoke with the Romans such as Pilate and the centurion. It doesn’t make sense that Jesus would have spoken to these people in Aramaic. He spoke to them in Greek. So Jesus knew Greek.
I lost interest in the book after this fact check. There are a number of examples in chapters before this as well.
This book is more about Barts opinions that the actual facts.

Arnold has vision!!
Revisado: 12-22-23
One of the best takeaways from this book is the vision Arnold had for his life. He looked towards people who had gone before him and replicated their steps. Truly great to hear someone is thinking about vision like this and then achieved it. I also love how he married Maria and it was normal in her family to have a crazy big vision. I was sad to hear their marriage didn’t work out. That’s the one part of the book that leaves you unsettled. For a guy who had such vision for success in his life, he failed to apply that vision to his marriage and family which is actually a good reminder for everyone. No amount of success in life will makeup for failure at home and you can see Arnold really feels this failure in his life. All in all it was an amazing book about of willpower, vision, mistakes and how to pivot when mistakes are made.

The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

The VISIONATOR!!!
Revisado: 10-30-23
What an amazing story of determination and vision. I loved how much Arnold talks about vision, you can see why he is successful. Such a great story. My favourite line from the book is when he is talking about prioritizing your time and breaking down how much time we have in a day and when he comes to the end he says something like: after you have handled everything in your day you might have a few hours of free time left for rest and relaxation. If you want to do something with your life, you have to use those hours to move forward on your vision because rest and relaxation are for babies and old people, LOL. I am butchering the line, but it was something like that. Arnolds humor is hilarious. It was also interesting to learn that Arnold hasn't led a perfect life and he has made mistakes on the way which he regrets but that hasnt stopped him from moving forward in life.
