This book was pretty good. I was definitely quite into it the first half... however! there was nothing really thrilly or twisty about this novel. I'd barely consider it a psychological thriller. or a thriller of any kind. really. it was just extremely predictable. That said, the narration was very good And I enjoyed listening to it.

Exceptional! Wonderful!

This series is some of the best material audible has ever put out. season 1 and season 2 are fantastic and season 3 is absolutely just as good. The full cast production is phenomenal. The voice actors are wonderful! absolutely listen to this series. You will not regret it. if I could give 10 stars for this I would. I hope they make more listening material like this! 🙂

ugh. couldn't finish it

too much rape.
honestly.. I don't even know where to start with this story. I was pretty hooked after the first book.. But in typical Anne Rice style there is far far more detail and backstory than ever needed. So the story moves really slow much like the first book.
I got about 3/4 of the way through, and I just couldn't take all the rape and abuse anymore. The story is so gross and toxic.
maybe the next book will be better. But I'm abandoning this one.

So this is the second book in a new series. definitely read or listen to the first book first. That said. I could not get enough of this book. captivating characters and scenes that unfold in your mind exactly as if you're watching a movie. The male and female narration is excellent. I'm so happy and excited about this new series and the new author. Looking forward to much more to come!

interesting, kept me listening, but not her best. lots of plot holes.
main character was very immature and annoying. side characters were really good. enjoyed the book okay but her housemaid series is far better. also the teacher was a great book.

Great ride. decent ending. Bullying.

definite trigger warning about this book if bullying is something that you have experienced, or that affects you.
That said. it was quite a good listen.
I was prepared to be disappointef in the end. But it was okay.
The whole book definitely kept me engaged throughout.
if you liked gone girl and are looking for something similar. give this one a listen.

BAD. Just bad.

I wanted to like this book... it started out pretty great. I was relatively engaged through about the first half... But at every point I was hoping for it to improve... it. just droled on and on.

This would have been relatively engaging had it been written as a short story... But there was so much unentertaining and unnecessary information and things that happened. WITHOUT ANY CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

I LITERALLY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS..

The only one that was moderately interesting was the childhood character voiced by the man. not going to say who so no spoilers...

The only reason I did not give one star is because the narration was excellent. very good readers for both male and female voices.

This book is just plain not good... save your credit. or just listen to gone girl, the housemaid, or girl on the train again... those psychological thrillers are actually worth your time.

A must read for any Gardener.

Sweet and charming. A bit fluffier type of novel than I usually like. But as an avid Gardener I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I will listen to it again 🙂

interesting, not captivating

I liked that this book was really long and it was an interesting take. each of the narrators was fabulous! there was not enough of a continuous storyline to keep me super engaged or interested. mostly I felt like I was listening to some sort of lecture from college. Apart from the good narration of course.
being interested in global warming and climate change is what got me through the end. But if this topic is not of particular interest to you, this book is a bit of a snooze.
