Black Out and All Clear is about time travel back to WWII for three time travelers who are doing research and end up getting stuck (not able to return to their own time). They each have their own experience so you get the kids evacuated from London, the London Blitz, hiding in the subway system, the rescue from Dunkirk, and so much more. It's long, but it's definitely a love letter from this author to the WWII era. I've listened several times.

Have to admit that it was hard to keep track sometimes (first listen) of who was where when as one Traveller made 2 different trips and they used fake names, but in the end, it was educational, illuminating, and the scene in Trafalgar Square at war's end - well, felt like I needed to be there with them.

This was a wonderful and funny book about two people who connected on different levels.
Funny and sexy and just kept me wanting to know what was next.
And her parents - the sex therapist and "Dick" with his boyfriend tests.
Narration was perfect.

Story: The same characters are back from the first book and some new ones were introduced. Non stop action. The kids are great and despite their off the wallness, are pretty on target for kids. Our heroes from Book 1 (Millicent, Ryker, and Trent plus Marie) return to Earth to stop the ongoing destruction. Once there, it is non-stop action from multiple view points. Trent is a delight. Danissa a wonderful surprise as she is softer than her sister. All in all, I couldn't stop listening which was hard when I had to put it down to concentrate on work.
Performance: Angela Dawe was magnificent as usual. Her voice and voice characters only moved the story along and yet let you know who was talking and just the right inflection.
5 Stars - this isn't GREAT literature, but it deserves 5 stars because 1) kept me riveted and 2) will be one that I will listen to more than once and 3) the story is logical within it's given universe (doesn't jolt you out with WTF).

This is the story of a romance between two lawyers who met in law school and due to a major misunderstanding on Nevaeh's part, she cut Edward off with no explanations. Several years later, they meet as lawyers for a divorcing couple. They re-connect and then they don't. Things get even more interesting after that. It was a great quick listen while working around my home office. The narrator did an excellent job and the story flowed smoothly although getting to HEA was a little tough.

Another Wonderful Edition to Vampires in America

I have been waiting for this book to be in audio. I love this series and have listened to the first four many times.

In this book, Raphael's Lt and right hand man have decided to put the next phase of their plan into motion with Duncan taking over the D.C. residence of the Vampire Ambassador. Things are really rotten and Duncan finds that he needs to clean up the mess left by his predecessor.

And then there's Emma, another lawyer, working on capital hill and trying to find out what happened to her friend. Not so much fireworks (fights and arguments), but a steady attraction between two strong characters which was nice to "watch" unfold.

I was worried about the change in narrators as I have really enjoyed Traci Odom's narration, but Nick Russo has stepped up to the plate and hit one out of the ball park and is a wonderful edition to the Vampires in America family. I can also understand the change in narrators as the focus is shifting from Cyn and Raphael and onto new male vampires who each have back stories and battles of their own. In this book and those that follow, you hear from the male character as much if not more than the female lead.

I'm looking forward to the next audio book.

I purchased this book and the next 2 in the series one month ago and have listened to them three times now. I love this book. It's a combination of grisly, humorous, and sweet. The world building is one of the best. The two main characters are Meg who is a blood prophet and Simon who is the wolfguard leader of the "Courtyard".

The rulers of "Thaisia" are The Others which comprise a wide variety of beings. The main residents of the Courtyard are shifters, vampires, and elementals. The Courtyards are enclaves for Others in the middle of Human cities whose job is to make sure the "clever monkeys" keep to their side of the agreements which have been forged between The Others and Humans. Unfortunately, Humans have short memories and big egos.

The story is the journey Meg has taken to escape "The Controller" who has ruled her life and sells her services for profit while keeping her imprisoned under the guise of helping her keep from cutting herself and how by being her "sweet blood" self, she changes everything including Simon.

There is now HEA in this book. It's written more like the Furies series by Jim Butcher in that each novel has a satisfying conclusion and the next novel picks up shortly after with another series of problems dealt with.

As I write this, the fourth book is due out in three days. Can't wait!!!!

I love science fiction romance especially those that have humor in them. There are several points of view which adds to the story telling when all of the aliens think Bay is a pet with her own kitty litter and the only one who figures it out is a child. Bay is a refugee from Earth who thought she was escaping the disaster Earth was becoming and ended up in the fire from the frying pan. Captured by one nasty alien, he mistreats her and sells her to the Zargonni to get rid of her. With a damaged throat, she can't talk and let them know she is an intelligent being and they treat her like a pet. And that's just the beginning of the story.
The world building is great. The auditor does a good job. I've listened to this story on more than one occasion. It's a favorite of mine.

I found the author thru the narrator who is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the story and am continuing to read/listen to the series. Am on number 4 now. I like Lissa the main character because I think she tries to survive while trying her best to live up to her own standards of behavior. She also gets mad, sad, and frustrated. She still behaves like her old self while the other characters in the book are reacting to her new incarnation as a Vampire. I've purchased both the Kindle and Audio version and expect this to be one of those books that I re-visit more than once.Traci Odom is one of my favorite Narrators/Readers and I found this series while looking for more Vampire in America books. She brings this book alive while not intruding on the experience.

This was a very enjoyable paranormal story. We have a female prime alpha on her way to take care of a problem who meets her human male mate. What to do? This is the total reverse of the usual paranormal story with the female as powerful and the male geek needing help. She's rich, he's poor. Just loved it. Audrey Lusk does a very good job of naration.

I was delighted to see Kodiak's Claim, which is part of the Kodiak Point Series, was now an audio having read the eBook. This is a really funny love story with a very interesting cast of characters including a Grandma Bear, a Moose, a Fox, more Bears and a few wolves plus a Human.

Tammy is a sassy BBW gal who doesn't take grief from boyfriends. The "I'm going to barbecue a steak" scene is hilarious. What was that man thinking?

Tammy is sent to Alaska to investigate an insurance claim and that's where her adventure really begins. There's an alpha bear who meets his city girl and, of course, his bear knows more than his human part. There's attraction, there's danger, there's even a really crazy guy, and, of course, there's love.

This book has a HEA ending and introduces the characters for the next book in the series - Outfoxed by Love. It's also nice to have the beautiful blond receptionist be a really nice person who knows how to take care of herself rather than being the "bad guy".

The narrator Chandra Skyye is very good. She's got the right kind of sass and she makes it easy to know which character is speaking. I've listened to her on several other audio books and she makes for a good audio experience.
