Beyond Powerful
Revisado: 05-15-21
Jordan Petersen is the man of our hour. He’s a deep and honest thinker, unafraid to share his hard learned wisdom in a time when popular culture proverbially crucifies people for less powerful revelations.
Thank you Mr Petersen. Those words fall short.

In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Cruel context and disjointed writing
Revisado: 08-06-19
This Dr arrogantly knocks off an older equally as cruel sleep training method but in a highly disorganized fashion. The book is unnecessarily long, disjointed and offers no new information nor sheds new light. I’m baffled by its popularity.
The Sleep Easy Solution is a more empathetic approach that yields the same results. Though we’re sticking with the family bed for now, a practice this Dr belittles and shames for a good 20 pages. Our baby can stay a baby for now. When he’s not, we’ll start treating him a little differently. On his own time. The question to ask yourself is “do you believe and for how long that a baby’s needs and wants are the same thing?”. I do. So this book and its pontificating bag of wind has no place in my library.

Historia
In the wild, when a wolf knows its time is over, when it knows it is of no more use to its pack, it may sometimes choose to slip away. Dying apart from its family, it stays proud and true to its nature. Humans aren’t so lucky. Luke Warren has spent his life researching wolves. He has written about them, studied their habits intensively, and even lived with them for extended periods of time.

I was very disappointed
Revisado: 08-25-18
I have heard so many things about Jodi Picoult and her writing. I was sure without really looking much into what this book is about that I would enjoy it based on things I have heard about her and her writing style. I have always been fascinated by wolves, spent a great deal of my life studying them and lived off the grid for large amounts of time throughout my life. This book is hugely disappointing. It's depressing, it's unrealistic and it's full of misinformation about the animals themselves. There are a few truths mixed in here and there, but the fantasies are so ubiquitous they overwhelm anything Picoult got right. I didn't find it to be very well written either. It was instead full of benign platitudes about life and death. I didn't connect with any of the characters. I will not give up on Ms Picoult here, but I can't recommend this book. Perhaps she should not write about animals and situations with which she clearly has no first hand experience.

A Beautiful, Heart-breaking, Inspirational Story
Revisado: 05-10-18
Just listen to this story. Even if you are not a runner you will be moved by the narrative as well as Julius' attitude towards life and the cruelest of its realities. If you are a runner, you'll be moved to put your shoes on and get to work - for the sake of your own heart and other's hearts.
Julius and his family have lived through some very dark times in human history by moving forward, keeping the faith and remaining patiently hopeful in what good people can do when they dream big and put their heads together.

Historia
Few subjects are as compelling-or as endlessly variable-as love and marriage. The Bible is filled with references to husbands and wives, from the story of Adam and Eve to advice in the New Testament, each open to interpretation. In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, pastor of New York's Redeemer Presbyterian Church and bestselling author of The Reason for God, uses the scriptures as his guide to show readers what God's call to marriage is, and why this is such a powerful call.

Historia
Ten of the Bible's best-known femmes fatales parade across the pages of Bad Girls of the Bible with situations that sound oh-so-familiar. Eve had food issues. Potiphar’s wife and Delilah had man trouble. Lot’s wife and Michal couldn’t let go of the past, Sapphira couldn’t let go of money, and Jezebel couldn’t let go of anything. Yet the woman at the well had her thirst quenched at last, while Rahab and the sinful woman left their sordid histories behind.

Historia
King's Cross is Timothy Keller's revelatory look at the life of Christ as told in the Gospel of Mark. There have been many biographies of Jesus, but few will be as anticipated as this one by Keller, the man Newsweek calls "a C. S. Lewis for the 21st century". In it, Keller shows how the story of Jesus is at once cosmic, historical, and personal, calling each of us to look anew at our relationship with God.
