Mr. Silva delivers again

Few authors deliver such thorough entertainment, enlightenment, and reader satisfaction as Daniel Silva. His collection of characters is as much a gallery of art masterworks as the frequent settings of his books - nuanced and colorful. Despite having consumed every novel in this series, I never fail to be surprised by a plot twist or amused (to the point of laughing out loud) by the repartee of vivid and likeable characters. This was, not unexpectedly, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I reached the end of the book with the usual twinge of sadness and regret that there was not another new chapter waiting for me tomorrow.

I would be remiss to not also compliment the narration by Eduardo Ballerini, who handles a wide range of names, accents, languages, and characters with deceiving ease. His performance is every bit as enjoyable and appreciated as the author's words.

Entertaining, but a bit simplistic

This set was moderately engaging, but read like an author's first attempt at this genre. The plot lines were fairly unsophisticated and came across somewhat naive, but I found myself interested in the characters and not only listened but bought the next box set when I was done. The story lines will seem awfully simplistic for fans of Vince Flynn, Kyle Mills, or Daniel Silva, but ultimately worth a listen. Kind of like watching the television adaptation of a much better movie, though. Narrator seemed pretty inexperienced at first, but has been improving with each book.

Not a scifi fan usually, but...

... this story captured my attention and imagination in unexpected ways. The *perfect* performance by reader Ray Porter made the characters come alive. This was a rare treat.

One of Silva's best...

... a great rebound after one of his weaker efforts. So very much enjoyed this story - fast moving, unpredictable, and altogether satisfying. And I couldn't be happier with the melodious sounds of George G. reading a great book like only the master can.

The most satisfying Orphan X book to date

The characters that Hurwitz has created are brought to life so effectively by narrator Scott Brick. The witty banter between Evan and Joey is smart and so well done - I found myself laughing out loud more than once. The story was engrossing and furiously paced, but not at the expense of well-defined, colorful characters. I am already waiting anxiously for the next chapter in the Orphan X series.

A most satisfying Thor thriller

This book was the most satisfying book by Brad Thor that I have read. I was riveted from the first chapter. It was clearly time for the story arc of this cast of characters to evolve significantly, and Thor made it happen with this excellent latest installment of the Scot Harvath series. Of course, another brilliant performance by Armand Schultz as well.

Awesome political thriller!

I only leave reviews for a handful of books to which I listen on Audible - just the ones I wish weren't over. This was a great story, with complex characters and plotting, and Scott Brick is the best reader on the planet.

An excellent thriller

An excellent thriller with brisk pacing and a marvelous juxtaposition of modern special operations and plausible historical elements. Thor is rapidly climbing my list of favorite authors.
