Historia
In the dead of winter, outside a small Minnesota town, state troopers pull two young women and their car from the icy Black Root River. One is found downriver, drowned, while the other is found at the scene - half-frozen but alive. What happened was no accident, and news of the crime awakens the community's memories of another young woman who lost her life in the same river 10 years earlier and whose killer may still live among them.

The voice is so annoying
Revisado: 06-24-19
I couldn’t get through even the first chapter because the reader sounds like a robot. It’s the first audiobook I couldn’t listen to

Historia
A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged. Left behind is a lonely 15-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from - a place to which she vowed she'd never return.

Somewhat difficult to follow but worth it
Revisado: 07-11-18
This book has over a dozen POVs throughout. It seemed daunting at first to listen instead of read. I also found myself asking, “why should I care about them?” during some of the chapters. However, by the end everything made sense and I enjoyed it. I didn’t love it as much as girl on the train but still worth the read/listen if you like these kinds of books.
