Historia
When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss...

This narrator is HORRIBLE
Revisado: 06-13-24
The story and characters are interesting, BUT this narrator is so rediculous and inept that I couldn’t finish the book. It wasn’t worth listening anymore to get to the ending.

Walt Longmire returns in this twentieth installment of the award-winning and bestselling series that has been a hit on both the page and the screen. Set in the unsoiled countryside of Wyoming, Sheriff Walt Longmire has to navigate his own increasingly complicated personal life with the ever-changing and often violent underworld that encroaches on what was once referred to as the Old West. This time, he is up against a sinister plot that could hurt the people closest to him and forever change the way he sees his beloved Wyoming.

Amazing storytelling!!
Revisado: 06-03-24
Craig Johnson has expertly woven two different times for Walt Longmire and Henry Standing Bear. History and the choices we make. I couldn’t love Walt Longmire more and hope Mr Johnson will continue writing about him, his life and, of course, beloved Wyoming.

Narrator is horrible!
Revisado: 11-14-23
I wish they would stop using this terrible narrator for the Anita Blake books! She runs all the sentences and paragraphs together—- has poor dramatic ability—-mispronounces words— is inconsistent in portraying the different characters—— makes JeanClaude sound like a simpering dolt

Narrator stinks
Revisado: 11-12-23
This narrator is incompetent in soooo many ways. She rushes thru the script
She has no dramatic ability
Her voice is aggravating
She mispronounces names and words
With so many Anita Blake stories I would’ve thought more effort would have been extended to find someone worthy of the job

Historia
Dexter County, Maine, and specifically the town of Empire Falls, has seen better days, and for decades, in fact, only a succession from bad to worse. One by one, its logging and textile enterprises have gone belly-up, and the once vast holdings of the Whiting clan (presided over by the last scion’s widow) now mostly amount to decrepit real estate. The working classes, meanwhile, continue to eke out whatever meager promise isn’t already boarded up. Miles Roby gazes over this ruined kingdom from the Empire Grill, an opportunity of his youth that has become the albatross of his life.

The story is excellent- wonderfully portraying the town, it’s history and residents. With good humor and insight Richard Russo draws distinct characters and their relationships.
I have listened to this audiobook three times so far and am so glad it’s a part of my permanent library so I can revisit it whenever I want.

Historia
If there's one thing that Bureau of Indian Affairs Investigator Emmett Quanah Parker knows, it's that the dead don't always stay dead. When the corpse of a woman, brutally murdered and bizarrely mutilated, is discovered on Havasupai Nation land, Parker is paired with FBI Special Agent Anna Turnipseed in a hastily assembled task force of two. The two share a mixed Native American ancestry - and little else.

Boring and predictable
Revisado: 09-21-22
This story is so predictable…. So, no suspense or desire to keep listening because you know what’s going to happen. The narrator has a nice voice but no modulation—- he drones on and on. There’s nothing appealing about the 2 main characters.
Don’t waste your time!
