I only had a few rules, and I always stuck with them. He was a playboy who ran by the same set of rules. What we had together was fun, it was hot, and it was temporary. Until he screwed everything up. We were never meant to be each other's happily ever after, but the harder I tried to push him away, the further I fell.

YESSSS!!!!
Revisado: 04-26-18
YAY! I've been waiting for this for what feels like forever. The first book in this series was so good!! (Livy and Parker even make some very sweet appearances in this one). As soon as I read the first book, I figured that Mason or Staci would be next in the series, but I didn't expect the two of them to come together! Mason is a definite hottie and Staci was such an awesome, hilarious, relate-able best friend in the first book, I'm excited they found each other :) Yes, let's just pretend this is real life.
This story was a fun, quick, sometimes angsty listen and both of the narrators captured each character really well. I've listened to a couple of Samantha Cook audios and now I'm reminded that I should definitely listen to more. As for Mr. Teddy Hamilton, yes, please! More!!!!!! He is so good at these bad boy/player types...I just love him!!
I don't want to say too much about the story because *spoilers* but I will say that I am excited for the next in this series!

Historia
A full-length standalone romantic comedy from USA TODAY best-selling author R.S. Grey. Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies. I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras. That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window. A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom).

squeeeee JOE ARDEN
Revisado: 04-26-18
Joe Arden is fast becoming one of my favorite narrators! And this is the second book he's done with R.S. Grey, so I knew I needed to get it right away. Perfect pairing. Luci Christian's narration is good too, especially in this book where she had to be "highschool age" for the first bit and then an adult later on. She has good comedic timing as well!
The story itself was exactly what I expect from an R.S. Grey book: funny, sweet, sexy, and did I mention funny? She seriously always has be lol-ing. This is why I particularly like listening to her audios; because I walk around like a grinning lunatic, bursting into random laughter around silent strangers. It's perfect.
Beau and Lauren's love felt so real! I can really relate to being an awkward AF teenager with an inappropriate crush on an older guy. I liked that she didn't go taboo and cross any lines there; the time jump allowed both characters to mature and change a bit, too. A much as I identified with Lauren, I just friggin LOVED Beau. Like, for real, does this man exist somewhere out in the wild? Because I would like to find him. Next book-boyfriend for sure.

Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk. That should've been my first sign. I write about guys just like him for a living - sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic f--kboy. And I want nothing to do with that.

I LOVED THIS AUDIOBOOK!
First off, Joe Arden with a slight southern twang? Yes, please. CJ Bloom was great as her character, too! Just really perfect choices on the narrators here.
As for the story, WOW, I was not expecting it to be to be what it was. I thought this book would be equivalent to a quickie, if you know what I mean. And I did finish it quickly, but it had much more depth than I was expecting. Ethan's back story literally made me tear up and Vada was a strong heroine that I really respected. Their chemistry level was off the charts, but they also had a lot of humor and then some seriousness between them. LOVED IT!

Will re-listen again and again.
Revisado: 03-20-18
I would listen to Dion Graham read literally anything. That being said, was very happy to listen to him reading this in particular.
A lot of challenging and interesting perspectives in the stories throughout. "Williamsburg Bridge" will stick with me for a long time and "Maps and Ledgers" was another favorite. The author is really good at bringing in what I can only describe as very real-feeling viewpoints; at times they felt like non-fiction because they were just so personal.
The timing of this release is not lost on me and I'm guessing that it will be very well received. I especially liked the "note" to the president at the beginning of the book, and sincerely hope that Mr. Trump does read this collection of stories.
Wideman is one of my favorite authors and having him paired with one of my favorite narrators was perfection!

Umm Shayna Thibodeaux is such an amazing narrator. I was telling a friend about this audiobook and she asked who narrated the guy's part...I had to stop and think for a minute before I remembered that Shayna did it all herself! Holy Smokes, she can really rock a French dude's accent somehow?! Amazing listen!

It's one thing for the tough, by-the-books agent to take down bad guys with his gun. Facing a rowdy crowd in only a G-string is another story...especially in front of his new boss, gorgeous, mysterious Reese Landon.

Hot cop going undercover as a male stripper?
Revisado: 02-22-18
Okay, I loved Magic Mike, so I am just the type of person who would love this kind of story. I've never read anything from Karen Rock before, but I am so glad I took a chance on this. It was HOT--(much in thanks to Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton, both of whom are amazing narrators of the sexy variety). I see there's another in the series coming out this summer and I hope it's about Nash!!!!

Meet Eve. She's a dreamer, a feeler, a careening well of sensitivities who can't quite keep her feet on the ground, or steer clear of trouble. She's a laugher, a crier, a quirky and quick-witted bleeding-heart worrier. Meet Ben. He's an engineer, an expert at leveling floors who likes order, structure, and straight lines. He doesn't opine, he doesn't ruminate, he doesn't simmer until he boils over. So naturally, when the two first cross paths, sparks don't exactly fly. But then they meet again. And again. And then, finally, they find themselves with a deep yet fragile connection....

Okay, this one is actually so cute!
Revisado: 02-22-18
I downloaded this one after I saw the book mentioned in a Buzzfeed post. The person there said that it was like When Harry Met Sally for a new generation and I just had to get it after reading that! I was afraid that a description like that was a setup to be disappointed, but I actually totally loved this. The characters' love story was so believable and realistic, I couldn't help but feel that the author was writing about her own life. The narrators were good, too! I hadn't listened to stuff from either of them before, so now I will keep an eye out. I will be recommending this one to friends for sure!

I'm a man without a conscience. I deal in murder and mayhem. I'm the best at what I do. Frankie Helburn is supposed to be an easy job. A means to flush her father out of hiding. Simple. Except there isn't anything simple about Frankie or the secrets she's keeping. She's stubborn as hell and the sexiest god damn thing I have ever seen, sending dark, dirty animalistic desire coursing through my veins. She's cocaine with legs. A f--king addiction that makes me question things I've never questioned before.

Historia
Jenna Fischer's Hollywood journey began at the age of 22 when she moved to Los Angeles from her hometown of St. Louis. She was determined, confident, and ready to work hard. So, what could go wrong? Uh, basically everything. The path to being a professional actor was so much more vast and competitive than she’d imagined. It would be eight long years before she landed her iconic role on The Office, nearly a decade of frustration, rejection, and doubt. If only she’d had a handbook for the aspiring actor. Or, better yet, someone to show her the way. Jenna wants to be that person for you.

Great Performances!
Revisado: 01-03-18
I can't emphasize enough how great the performances were on this audiobook! A lot of narrators (who are also actors sometimes) have great chops, but it is something special to have an actor read their own work. Really, really enjoyed that, especially the interviews at the end. Also, I feel like Jenna Fischer is one of those celebrities that if you met her in real life she would be just so. damn. nice. This audiobook confirmed that feeling for me. I get the impression that she genuinely just wants to help other people, particularly aspiring actors. I am not an aspiring actor, but I still really enjoyed this listen.
