Lili Valente’s narration ruined it

Lili Valente’s narration would go back-and-forth between normal, and sounding like a gerbil pepped up on Mountain Dew. She would narrate some things as if the world was coming to an end, and then go back to normal speaking within a nanosecond. I had to stop listening to the third story, because I couldn’t take it anymore. She should stick to writing, because narration is not her forte.

The first two stories were ok. The third story was un-listenable. I gave up after about 15 minutes. All in all, I wish I passed on it.

I love duet narration

Teddy Hamilton gives yet yet another swoon worthy performance. Fun story, especially with the duet narration. The chemistry jumps off the page.

The movie is still way better

Neither Christian nor Anna come off as very likable in this story. Christian comes off as just this side of abusive, and Anna snooping through his things, bothers me. there’s still should have been male actors, reading the male parts. The mispronunciations should have been cleared up by the producer or whomever. All in all, this just falls a little flat.

Glad I saw the movie first

There should have been a male actor reading Christian‘s parts. I found her narration to be very robotic and monotone – almost like AI. And it was even worse when she was speaking Christian‘s parts. Hearing her narration did not make 
The story come alive for me.

A bit long

The story was enjoyable. However, I feel like there was a lot of “back and forth-ing” that went on a bit too long. I also feel like there were some loose ends that could have been tied up. But all in all, it was an enjoyable listen.

Jason Clarke should have narrated it alone

As usual, Jason, Clark is swoony perfection. He could read the periodic tables and make it sexy. However, Rose sounded like a breathy teenage girl, and not a successful, professional, 20 something lawyer, for a major sports team. I found her very distracting, and it took away from the story. I think she’s more suited to playing a friend, and not female lead. That’s my only “con”.

The story was very enjoyable. Jason Clarke can read anything, and it would sound sexy as hell. All in all, I’m glad I listened.

I live in Baltimore, and I had forgotten many of the details of the story. What’s so amazing and scary is that it’s all true. The story was laid out well, and the performance was excellent. I highly recommend it.
