Historia
When the young half-goblin emperor Maia sought to learn who had set the bombs that killed his father and half-brothers, he turned to an obscure resident of his father’s Court, a Prelate of Ulis and a Witness for the Dead. Thara Celehar found the truth, though it did him no good to discover it. He lost his place as a retainer of his cousin the former Empress, and made far too many enemies among the many factions vying for power in the new Court. The favor of the Emperor is a dangerous coin.

perfect short story
Revisado: 12-01-24
iv never read any of the other books of the Goblin Emperor, but this book might change that. a great full story with well done characters, beautiful world building, and well thought out pacing and plot. details are always accurate and it never feels like something is done unintentionally. the way the world-building is so complete is so immersive and enjoyable, and as i read i feel like im desperate to know more of every detail its great. the characters were unique and i loved it beginning to end. i usually always read long series such as stormlight archives, the books of the new sun, and more, but getting to get a small story while still in a fully fleshed out world with its own history and lore was amazing!

Exceeded Expectation
Revisado: 08-02-24
Buehlman is an AMAZING writer creating such a distinct voice for Galva in comparison to the earlier Black Tongue Thief. Her story is wrought with pain and horror, all the while keeping her back unbending and keeping ME on the edge of my seat. My only critic was that I wished it was longer because I wanted morrre. His fantasy world is unique and written with such a rich history everywhere it’s amazing. Now all I want is a dozen more books.
