I made it about an hour and a half in and the deleted it, and I have never left a book unfinished. This one was listed in the Mystery, Thriller & Suspense category but it should have been listed under violent porn. I am a 58 year old Navy veteran and have heard and seen a lot of stuff. I am not a prude. but the violent descriptions of sex was completely unnecessary and added nothing to the story. The performances were good, but not great. I wouldn't consider listening to another of her books if they were given to me.

Overall, a great series, but....

To be perfectly honest, by the end I wouldn't have been upset if Celaena and Rowan had blown up in a puff of smoke. They just wore on me and the books were too full of their kinky sex, though admittedly most of it was left to the imagination. Also, whenever people started out hating each other you could be assured that they would end up being together. The "oh, we're such good and noble people" stuff got a little old as well. Overall, I can't say that it wasn't a great series though.

What a book!

This is one of my favorites of all time. How anyone can complain about the ending or rate it poorly is beyond me, it was completely unexpected and was a great twist. I hated Bronson Pinchot as Balki, but he's a fabulous narrator and I say that after having listened to several books that he has narrated.

Look I get it, it might have been a little preachy, particularly in the beginning, but it was a great story with great characters and you don't have to agree with all that is written to appreciate a great story, or at least you shouldn't. I'm afraid I have to disagree with some of Mr. King's beliefs, but that's okay too; I like to hear other's opinions. As others said, I would have loved for Will Patton to have narrated it because he brought Holly to life, but there was nothing wrong with Justine Lupe's narration. Overall, it was well worth the time.

Great story, narrator sounds like an old Baptist preacher

And-uh Simon-uh said-uh…. The narrator has a great voice, but he tends to add “uh” to the end of some words for some reason. This is a great story though and I really enjoyed it and learned to ignore the “uh’s”
