I really loved Daisy and her deserving love story but this was AWFUL! The narrator made Matthew sound like an idiot. I can’t even describe it. Completely RUINED it for me. A great story down the drain. Save a credit and read this instead. It’s not worth it. Guarantee you’ll be disappointed in the voice chosen for him also. Shame. :(

If you want to EXPERIENCE a book, look no further. Tessa Dare outdid herself with this one. My fav, by far, of this series. 🥇 It is fun from start to finish. And, although the witty banter is a constant, the passion is fierce! Ash and Emma are the perfect match. They set fire to the pages with words and their desires for one another. (Yes, there IS steam in this book. Not overly vulgar, but oh so good and detailed in a couple instances. 🥵)
This reminds me a bit of Beauty and the Beast but BETTER.

If you are still deciding to use a credit on this book, here’s your sign 🔜 DO IT! I promise you will be happy you did as it will be a repeat listen. Guarantee it! ✔️ Worth every cent.

Mary Jane Wells…. Wow! So many different voices! And the male voices sound male. Such a wonderful voice actress/performer. A+++++ all the way.

Note: I’m not going to go into what the book is about in detail since the blurb given is a perfect description.

Enjoy! 😃

I can’t seem to understand the high praise of this book. It is VERY juvenile and the narration is some of the worst I’ve listened to (and I have a library of over 300 titles just here on Audible)! I gave the story itself 2 stars only because the storyline had some interesting moments but all-in-all, it’s so bad. I would never spend a credit on this. Actually, I wouldn’t listen to it even if it were free.

HORRIBLE CHOICE FOR MALE NARRATOR!

UNLESS THE MALE NARRATOR IS REPLACED OR GONE — DO NOT LISTEN. Save yourself (and a credit).

What a shame! For the large population of audio only “readers”, a narrator can make or break a book, despite the story itself or how intriguingly good it may or may not be. THE MALE NARRATOR BROKE THIS BOOK! Shain Rose should’ve just let Rose Dioro narrate it all. Antonio Amato did NOT match the part in anyway. He sounded like a Grandpa reading me a smutty book. CRINGE!
Once his first chapter hit, I literally gasped because it was so bad.
If you read, read the actual book. The story is good. Skip the audio.

GET A NEW FEMALE NARRATOR! Disappointed. . .

To say I’m a fan of J.T. Geissinger and this series, especially, would be an understatement. BUT this 3rd installment just didn’t hit the spot. I cannot stand that she used Brooke to narrate Riley’s character! She sounded just as she did in the first book, and being Troy narrated with her in that as well, this sounded like (as one reviewer already said) de ja vu. I think Troy was able to alter his voice just enough to distinguish from Kage but Brooke did not. It was Natalie! Horrible choice in having her narrate. Not that she isn’t talented, but it truly ruined the story for myself and many other listeners I’ve spoken with.
If it were my series, I’d have the female character re-read by another narrator.

As for the story… I had a very hard time seeing Mal’s character fall so instantly. I’m sure he’s seen thousands of women in the same predicament he thought Riley was in. It just didn’t seem believable his instant obsession. The progression seemed a bit more believable but with a mix of that off character deviation in Mal to her having the sane voice as Natalie, I was overall put off.
I also think the author made Sloane TOO weepy and weak. That bugged me. ha

If you’re into the series, definitely listen so you can continue the magic…But be warned: It’s like book one with voices and you’ll hear Nat the whole time.

Meh. Too long. Boring.

I don’t understand the majority of reviews giving this book such high praise. I guess we all have our own tastes but I thought this book was wayyyy too long. The story was decent but it could have been half the length. I would’ve rated it higher. Some parts were sooooo boring. I barely made it through.
The spice was minimal and not too good. I just didn’t feel the connection these two had at the beginning. It sort of grew on me as the book continued, but at that time I just wanted it to end.

The narration was good but I’ve heard Jacob Morgan give MUCH better performances. He just fell flat. Emily Woo Zeller did a nice job.

Overall, I’d give this a 3, at best.

I absolutely loved this story! ❤️

The story starts with a text sent to a wrong number. It connects two broken people—both covered in scars from two very different traumas. Everett, hot-tempered, strong yet tired of fighting reoccurring cancer. Parker, cold, numb, unable (unwilling) to feel emotion after being brutally attacked, indifferent.
The two embark on a bucket list of Everett’s and what a journey it is! I don’t want to spoil it, but you will not be able to stop listening.
The end had be sobbing… HARD! Like, chest-grabbing moaning. 😫😭
The epilogue had me crying even more. 🥹

As for the performance, it was okay but two narrators would have been better and YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS IN 1.3X SPEED OR MORE or it will drag you into a coma. The narrator talks soooooo slowwww.
I listened at 1.3X and it was perfect for me.

SPEND THE CREDIT!!! I promise you will not be disappointed you did. You will want to make everyone you know read/listen to this after. Guarantee it.

Enjoy! ☺️

PS. The spice in this it just right. I’d give it 2 🌶️.

Forced proximity, enemies-to-liver, and step-siblings…. What is there not to love?!
Now, before you cringe at the taboo of it, don’t. Fallon and her mother came into the picture when she was 14. Both Maddoc and Fallon were teens. There is no age gap.
They built a love that was unstoppable! Oh, they were so good for each other.
I’d get into all the details of the book but it would spoil it too much…just know these two worked really hard for their HEA.
CREDIT WORTHY?! YES! Again and again.

Nelson Hobbs is excellent as Maddoc but his female voice isn’t the best.
Abby Craden was a poor choice for Fallon. She sounded too old and all breathy….and her voices for other characters were just weird.
I would have rated this audio higher had there been a better suited female narrator.

Although the story itself wasn’t so bad, I couldn’t get past all the hate towards Elec (and Greta). Stepbrother Dearest is one of my favorite books, by the way. Elec may have broken things off with Chelsea but he was good to her. He truly did love her. He never cheated on her and never said a foul thing about her. He hated he hurt her. Greta too! She felt horrible. But here’s the thing, Greta was his first love, his true love. He thought she was out of reach and moved on. When he found out she wasn’t and that his heart beat faster and harder for her than Chelsea, he knew it would be unfair to be with Chelsea and love Greta so much in secret. He simply loved Chelsea by default (and that wasn’t wrong of him to do!) He knew when he saw Greta again, she was it for him. The hate for him made me mad and spoiled the whole book for me. I believe Penelope Ward did Elec and Greta wrong.

If you already have this book downloaded and it does not include the new bonus chapter (Adam’s POV during Chapter 16), select the three dots next to the title in your library, *Remove from Device*, then download again. The new bonus chapter narrated by Teddy Hamilton will be there.
I love Teddy Hamlilton’s narration but I didn’t feel his voice was deep enough for the role. Throughout the book, we were lead to believe Adam had a deep voice. Not a major deal but one I wanted to note. I still love this new chapter!

As for the whole book, it was a slow burn but not a lot of satisfaction in the end. It ends right as it happens. This was a MAJOR disappointment and cost a star in my opinion. I almost deducted 2! It’s like working soooo hard digging out super frozen ice cream with a weak teaspoon into a serving bowl but only being able to lick the spoon after all that work. No ice cream for you. ::sigh::
