Morton picked a good group of people to cover, all interesting, some new to me, and I learned something new about the ones I knew.

A wide collection of essays
Revisado: 09-20-24
I never tire of Le Guin's perspective on things. We have had the good fortune to live in a world where such a talent at writing, learning, and observing graced us with her well considered prose.
The reader performed well, was clear, well paced, and dynamic.

Historia
On Blue's Waters is the start of a new work by Gene Wolfe which takes place in the years after Wolfe's four-volume Book of the Long Sun. Horn, the narrator of the earlier work, now tells his own story. Though life is hard on the newly settled planet of Blue, Horn and his family have made a decent life for themselves. But Horn is the only one who can locate the great leader Silk and convince him to return to Blue and lead them all to prosperity. So Horn sets sail in a small boat, on a long and difficult quest across the planet Blue in search of the now legendary Patera Silk.

Getting the hang of Wolfe
Revisado: 09-20-24
Nous on my ninth book in the series I'm better understanding Wolfe's writing style. A very worthy entry in my favorite series.
The performance was great; the reader is clear and separates character voices nicely.

Good fantasy

The reader's performance is great, and the story is exactly what I like to read in fantasy. It is rich, deep, and messy.

I loved Dreadnought, and Sovereign is a worthy successor. The characters are well written, the story interesting, and it has one of the grittiest superhero fights I’ve encountered.

Loved it!
Revisado: 03-09-19
I loved the book. I thought the worldbuilding and pacing were good, the characters human and relatable and realistic, and the overall story delightful. The zombies were fun, and an interesting take on the concept. The natural environmental hazard aspect kept me going throughout.
I hope there are more to come.

Historia
The Indignities of Being a Woman candidly traces the history of womanhood and investigates how much things have really changed for womankind. By carefully x-raying areas such as body image, marriage, mental illness, fashion, and politics, this audiobook examines what it was like to be a woman in the past versus what it’s like now, when women are constantly told equality between the sexes exists but reality proves otherwise.

Important and funny
Revisado: 09-20-18
Well researched and presented. Focusing on twelve aspects of life and civilization, the authors do a wonderful job of demonstrating the scope and severity of the ill-treatment and inequalities in the lives of women throughout history. I found the humorous tack they took in their writing and presentation just enough to keep me from crying. I can not recommend this title enough.
