Historia
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

Beautifully written - all the feels
Revisado: 04-14-25
I loved this story. The characters were wonderfully developed and the intimacy & emotion was palpable. I’m married to a “Frank”. This book brought forth so many feelings I had buried so long ago and truly made me appreciate the Franks in our world. The narration was perfection! The author did a wonderful job with changes in timelines and creating relationship ties between them. Highly recommend this book to anyone with a love for heart, emotion, romance, growth through grieving & pure satisfaction at the end of a book.

Historia
When Anna Hartley’s husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can’t believe what she hears. It has to be a bad joke—the mild, predictable artist she married would never hurt a fly, let alone commit murder. But her confusion turns to horror when police find his body washed up on the banks of the Rio Grande.

Good roadtrip read
Revisado: 03-04-25
The story was good overall. I’m not sure if I missed something but I couldn’t figure out what the vacancy was in room 10. The characters were very relatable. It’s an OK book, a good read for a beach or a road trip.

Thank you Kristin Hannah for telling this story for the generations who don’t remember or who don’t know anything about the Vietnam war. I too wore a silver POA bracelet for a long time & have often wondered what became of the soldier whose name was on it. This book is amazing! Thank you!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

An incredible book
Revisado: 10-10-24
I have read several historical fiction. Books set in the World War II timeline. This was absolutely one of the best I have ever read! The characters were so well described that I felt like I knew them. I don’t know how people survived the evil in time! I am so glad I read this book and highly recommended.

Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

I absolutely loved this book. I have a dear friend who had an experience similar to “Kate’s” and I envisioned her expressing her feelings in much the same way. I listened using Audible & the narration was so good. It really brought the characters to life. Thank you to Emma Grey for sharing a piece of your life journey with us & reminding me that life is short & love is not a guarantee.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Very basic information
Revisado: 01-10-21
The book has promise based on the title however I found it repetitive and the information basic. The narrator sounds like a computer voice a very distracting. The information says it’s science based but not well supported when describing the research. There are much better & more thorough books on intermittent fasting out there (The obesity factor, Delay don’t deny etc). I had hoped for more on specifics for menopausal women & fasting benefits.
