It is essential to understand what went on in the mid-twentieth century in Britain, Europe and beyond through important and brilliant people .

The best is the narration, the content is fundamental, for it gives the essential elements of philosophy for a better future. The story sometimes goes into superfluous, though decoratively pretty, elements.

Exceptional research and integration

In contrast to other reviews, I found this book exceptional in its research of the topic, associated material, and overarching topics: xenophobia, sectarianism and intolerance, despite declarations, proclamations, exhortations, and the establishment of laws to procure rights and freedoms for the people, all citizens, by our nation’s founders!

A Beautiful Gem!

This is very heart warming and personal exploration if the Cloud of Unknowing and its mystical foundations and practices. The only thing that troubled me is the deep “presence” of the “Mother Church” and an anthropomorphized “God” construct on which we depend on for “grace.”

As intuited, this is a fantastic piece, with a very interesting, articulate and melodious nature; a work of art, in its musicality, nuanced and beautifully prosodic spoken word, and diction. Annie’s story is fascinating! She is fresh, in her act, persona, and alter-ego; the avatar she embodies and through which she delivers a profound and relevant message about the world, life, the self, the inner world she has not shied away from but exteriorizes in a daring and unapologetically fresh way, which can acquire a different meaning when it relates to her life as a New Yorker.

Heart-wrentching, passionate, outreageous

This is an extrordinary, sad, document of the conquest, rape, pillage, despair, and distress, of latin America post “discovery.” Beautifully written, brutally honest and incisive, and, at the end, sad, it is as if there is no hope for Latin America, besides a few brave souls whose bravery stamps stamps spots of fleeting hope, here and there, for some time.

Extraordinary Program with Extraordinary People

This is one of the best programs I have listened to ever, not just in Audible, but anywhere. Adam Grant’s editing of his interviews with the world’s top business and organizational leaders is compelling, profound, instructive, and inspirational. It is worth every minute!
