Historia
Deborah Harkness first introduced the world to Diana Bishop, an Oxford scholar and witch, and vampire geneticist Matthew de Clermont in A Discovery of Witches. Drawn to each other despite long-standing taboos, these two otherworldly beings found themselves at the center of a battle for a lost, enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782. Since then, they have fallen in love, traveled to Elizabethan England, dissolved the Covenant between the three species, and awoken the dark powers within Diana’s family line.

Fabulous read
Revisado: 07-18-24
Once again, Deborah Harkness delivers! I've missed these characters and all thrilled to see the development of the twins and to see the introduction of the Proctor Witches. So happy to see that this will further continue into more books as Diana's journey into her magick ✨ continues. How exciting!

Historia
Geoffrey Lushington, Mayor of Marlow, dies suddenly during a Town Council meeting. When traces of aconite—also known as the queen of poisons—are found in his coffee cup, the police realize he was murdered. But who did it? And why? The police bring Judith, Suzie and Becks in to investigate as Civilian Advisors right from the start, so they have free rein to interview suspects and follow the evidence to their heart’s content, which is perfect because Judith has no time for rules and standard procedure.

The new narrator was abysmal
Revisado: 07-15-22
I really enjoyed the storyline, the plot and the characters. I wish that I had picked it up as a book. I had really enjoyed the prior narrator and was SERIOUSLY disappointed with the new one. She sounds so depressed and her reading rate was slow. PLEASE get a different narrator for the author's next book!

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Would you consider the audio edition of Two Down, Bun to Go to be better than the print version?
I think that they are equally matched, although the narrator helps bring it to life. She gives Gemma of voice, which is the perfect voice that I imagine Gemma to have. Her descriptions are wonderful and I enjoy listening to her.
Who was your favorite character and why?

I really enjoyed this book!
Revisado: 10-21-16
This book starts out with the question "do you like being young?" Young Matthew says, yes I do. And there starts the tale. The setting of this story is in depression-era Upper Canada, a time of drought. A little brother disappears, a mysterious stranger arrives, and an 11 year old boy wants to bring home his sibling. Wonderfully told, excellent descriptions, characters that I could sympathize with, and a Canadian Mountie to boot. A very interesting, spooky tale of a quest for eternal life and a young child that wants to set things right and bring lost children home.
I was fortunate enough to enjoy the Audible version of this book, which is read by the author himself. I recommend reading/listening to it. Perfect read for this Halloween time of year.
