Historia
Kahlan has at last gained the one goal she had always thought was beyond her grasp...love. Against all odds, the ancient bonds of secret oaths, and the dark talents of men long dead, Richard has won her heart. Amid sudden and disastrous events, Richard's life is called due to satisfy those treacherous oaths. To save his life, Kahlan must forsake Richard's love and cast him into the chains of slavery, knowing there could be no sin worse than such a betrayal.

Disappointing…
Revisado: 08-19-24
I read this book many years ago and it is a great book! The narrator BUTCHERED this book. I’m pretty sure he fed it through an A.I. because it is horrible… there was so much feeling in the book but NOTHING from the narrator and all his “voices” are the same so when you listen it is confusing as to who is talking. Let’s also talk about how he made all the “voices” sound robotic and almost like how native Americans sound in old westerns. And this is ALL the characters, not just a few. It is painful to listen to.

Historia
More than a decade ago, six kids witnessed unspeakable horror. Not all of them lived to tell. Riza is no longer that kid - troubled, angry, and filled with secrets. She’s grown up, and when she stumbles upon an on-line forum about the shuttered Northern Michigan Asylum, she tries to pretend it never happened - not the years of experimentation, nor the strange midnight writings, and most of all, not the murders. But someone wants her to remember. Deaths shockingly similar to those that occurred in 1989 are happening again.

Worst narrator EVER! Was this red by an A.I.?
Revisado: 04-12-24
So this was the last book that wraps up everything and it was sooooo hard to get into because I swear the book was read by an a.i. and not a real person… the book itself was ok i guess but it’s hard to say because as I said, it was hard to get into… just ruined the book

Orla has a gift, an ability to sense things she touches: memories, traumas…murders. On a sunny day in 1975, she sets off on a bike ride into the picturesque countryside and vanishes. She is not the first young woman to go missing and she will not be the last.

Great story, horrible narrator
Revisado: 03-21-24
I have been listening to all of her books as I work and I REALLY enjoy them. I am also enjoying this story but the narrator is making me lose the story… she will be trying to do an Irish accent and sucking at it but whatever, I can’t either but what’s annoying is that she won’t keep it up for that character and whoever is talking to that character will sometimes start having the same voice/terrible accent as the Irish character and I can’t keep up with who is talking at the time. The story is cool, I love how she will connect the books and make it feel like it’s own creepy universe but this voice actor/narrator is horrible 😣

Historia
Dave Pelzer was brutally abused as a child by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother. She considered him a slave - no longer a boy, but an "it". He was physically and mentally tortured and starved. The outside world knew nothing of the nightmare he experienced behind closed doors, and his father was aware of the abuse but turned to denial and alcohol. The abuse only fueled a determination to survive and become stronger.

Um… disappointing
Revisado: 05-29-23
Soooo I don’t know how this has such great reviews because I have listened to so many books like this and this is the first one that has left me insanely angry because there was no conclusion, no closure and so many missing pieces! As my friend and I were listening to this we kept thinking we missed a chapter because it seemed to just jump randomly, especially at the end… so many unanswered questions and it was SUCH a short book! It just… ended… no just no this is not a good one. It who’ll leave you annoyed and frustrated. I don’t know if someone just wanted to make as much money as possible or what the plan was by trying to make this into several tiny books but WRONG
