What a fabulously well-written story, not a dullnor disconnected moment from beginning to end. Middle grade book it may be but nothing juvenile about it. Interesting, intelligent characters, engrossing stories, myraid emotions, all interwoven with magic, mystery, and adventure. And all without any overbearing romance and drama to be found in adult fiction. The narration was completely up to the mark and carried the story and all characters well. Looking forward to listening to more from Michelle Harrison.

One of the best books I've ever listened to!

It's got humor, mystery, fantasy, romance, familial love, cute baby angle, and adoring pets - what doesn't it have! All narrated by a fantastic performer, Angela Dawe. I have listened to this audiobook numerous times over 10 years and feel a pang every time I end it and leave this beautiful world behind. There is characteristic Jennifer Crusie wit and humor. The story is sharp, diverse, FUN, and super interesting. The emotions are beautiful and projected via realistic dialogue. The plot is fulfillingly complex but well executed with all questions answered. There's a lot of charm in the story and characters. And there a a lot of different and interesting characters. I sorely miss Jennifer Cruise's books and writing; I dearly wish she woukd start writing again, particularly every time I listen to this book.

It is imperative to mention the beautiful job that Angela Dawe has done in narrating the story beautifully and bringing each character to glorious life in just the right tone.

Not a single dull moment in this book. Fantastic!

Pretty good performance

I'm only 4 chapters in but I wanted to comment on the performance. I enjoyed the first 2 books quite a lot, had found this kind of smart and snappy humor after a long time. But I was hesitant to buy this book due to unfavorable reviews about the narrator. Itvis really pretty good - it's pert and buoyant to match the tone of the story and characters and the narrator lends distinguishable and appropriate voices to different characters. Noone can be Anna Fields but this narrator is quite good.

Funny and simplistically poignant

There is humor in the mental ramblings of the 'coma girl'. And yet a certain wise perspective of life to find humor in the things she does. Real and hopeful at the same time, this is a great find and a keeper.

Beautiful, another winner!

Warm, funny, quirky, intriguing, suspenseful - how often can you find so many subjects in one book! Jennifer Crusie creates such a beautiful family of characters that you don't want to leave it when the book is over. Aasne Vigesaa brings all the different characters vigorously to life and amplifies their various personalities and nuances. I wish Ms Crusie wrote many, many more books and we had many more of these treasures.

Anna Fields is simply brilliant

I'm partway through the book and haven't been paying attention so as to be able to comment on it, but goodness Anna Fields' narration! She has this quality that seems to make a story appear to flow. She's a phenomenon! Such a terrible loss to the audiobook world.

Surprisingly beautiful and poignant

I was rather surprised by the climax; didn't expect it from the tone of the initial parts of the book. But it was a very interesting, intriguing, and ultimately emotionally touching story. One cannot help but feel for Andy Barber.

Wonderful writing, intelligent storytelling, witty and fast-paced humor. Thoroughly entertaining! And the narration is PERFECT for the tone of writing.
