Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

OK slow burner.
Revisado: 10-29-21
This is a good book, but not worth all the positive reviews. It was OK but I can think of a few similiar books more worthy of praise
The MC kind of got on my nerves at times. That's not unusual though.
Narrator was alright, no complaints.
If you don't like books that are mainly centered around young people fumbling around their first romances I would avoid this one. The mystery takes back seat to the MCs romance life.
If you like mystery fictions I recommend the book "The Paitent" also on audible.

Historia
Keras Selyrian is already well on the way to cutting his name into the annals of legend. He’s fought false divinities, thieving sorcerers, and corrupt demigods - and left them defeated in his wake. But he’s a long way from home, and Kaldwyn offers a different brand of danger than he’s used to. He’s already got a sword of unfathomable power, but it’s damaged and leaking world-annihilating mana, so he’s in the market for a new one. Possibly six. The more the better, really.

This is not a prequel
Revisado: 10-25-21
I would give this story at least four stars if not for the bogus information in the details. This book is NOT a prequel to the Acension series. This is the fourth book and semi spin off of the book with the gods and sorcerers. Its written by the same author before the acension series.
The main character Taleon from that series has been transported to this new world. I read the first book in that series so I know the characters, like Lydia and the spead wielder.
Unfortunately because I went from that first book to this "new series" it ruined the next two books of that series. or all of them if you never read it.
Also I think most people are upvoting this book because they are fans of the Kingkiller two books that are also popular from people who only read books that arw super popular. Which is why books like Twilight make millions while unread people compare every single fantasy book to game of thrones and Hunger Games

In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

Excellent Sci Fi. Political in nature, but the characters were awesome. Props for having an A.I. not bent on destroying all Humans, and a MC who wasn't the male equivalent of a Mary Sue like super blonde handsome Adonis guy in Saturn Run. This is an author that clearly did their research.

Historia
Some say that to change the world you must first burn it down. Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. With nothing left to lose, Citizen Brock is determined to become a new hero for the new age, while Citizeness Savine must turn her talents from profit to survival before she can claw her way to redemption.

Simply brilliant.
Revisado: 09-28-21
I have been a bookworm since I learned to read. I have nearly 300 audible books.
But my memory is shit so I forget three forths of what I read.
What is not shit is Joe Abercrombies amazing writing. I have read all of his books, and LOVE the imaginative world he has built.
As a would-be professional writer I consider myself a picky connoisseur when it comes to naming favorites.
But Abercrombies mixture of modern day wit and the wisdom of sages has left me in awe.
If I were to name one a master Fantasy storytelller writing it would be Abercrombie.
Besides Steven King no other author has has me looking for a pen to write down such wit and wisdom as I might pretend is mine later when talking to friends.
I am truly in awe of how events turned out in this book. And without spoiling anything I will compare it to watching the movie inception that made me just feel in awe of another artists masterpiece.
And let's not forget Steven Pacy who does so many voices so well. A welcome treat when dealing with such clever characters as Jonas Clover or "Old Sticks".
I can only hope this wonderful team of narrator and writer continue making more bloody awesome fantasy books.
Of note, I find a particular theme in these books that appeals to me on a personal level. Of men and women redeeming themselves from the sins of their past, to become better, wiser, and often times more humerous people.
I have never left such a long review on any book ever.
So with that I will just bow my head in respect to the narrator, author and all those other people that never get mentioned that go in to producing such lovely audio books.

Massive spoilers in some of the first reviews
Revisado: 06-04-21
The book is good, despite my own biased oppinions about a main character. I just don't see someone who has mastered a game that sounds like chess on cocaine and yet has the illogical thinking of a child. But, let's face it, characters in fantasy usually start off as poor and naive, or overwhelming strong. Then the rest of the story can be boiled down in to them either becoming smart and lucky (finding treasure, finding girlfriends who they always seem to save because we know how females all need men to save them from everything *sarcasm*) or the overwhelmingly powerful or rich spend the book(s) getting taught how to be more humble, or why money isnt the root of all happiness.
But I am jaded because I read hundreds of fantasy and fiction books a year. and the truth is you simply can't do that without drawing comparisons between them.
Despite what many artists and writers would like you to believe they just pull stories about talking dragons out of their butts, the truth is art, ALL artists of every class and medium, are inspired by things in their life.
Just as our dreams are often accumulations of memories, fears, hopes, and the events of the past - so too do we draw from our own memories, as well as the things we are passionate about, for inspiration.
So this book being inspired by many other authors, writers (and I believe there were one or two pop culture inspirations but could be wrong)
doesn't make it a bad book. (Despite my favorite character being Cade, who seemed to keep Aarons naivete just like Samwise did Frodo, and many other fantasy bffs before them.)
This is still a good book. The writing is good. And for peets sake THANK you for making the seeress character a druid. Such an underpreciated class even if her potions and toxins she imbued that made her eyes go crazy seemed to be a blatant rip off of Geralts toxins and mutations from the Witcher, including how they were written about (in ways I wont spoil here).
I had no problem with the narrator, and I bought the book after reading about all the hate he got in reviews. But I think he did a good voice for Aaron, whom sounded just as annoying as I felt he acted.
But, let's get serious here. This book was all about Grub. Grub holds the story together. Grub have more personality in his big toe than a few of the main characters put together. Grub best character. You like Grub. Grub say it is so.

Coming ashore with just 20 lancers, he is forced to rely on brains rather than brawn - gaining new allies in a strange land on the cusp of its own internal violence.

narrator change saved by good book
Revisado: 02-08-21
I cant imagine why there was a narrator change after five books. I liked the last narrator. I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell the characters apart but this new narrator was O.K. I miss Stykes gravelly accent but that's about it.
Good ending, though like other reviewers said about the first of this new trilogy it wasn't quite as interesting as the last.
Yes, Taniel is back and so is Bo and Nyla but they are all static side characters. I think the biggest loss was losing Tannis. And then trying to replace her with Vlora who I disliked in the first series for the whole infedelity thing. But that's just the oppinion of someone who has been cheated on enough to not find any compassion for cheaters when writers try to throw in some sob story to make you try and find compassion for the character.
Also some parts of McAllens story were interesting, and it was good to have a mostly Human character to give an outside perspective on how we mortals might see all the powerful figures in this book. But his whole life goal seemed to pale in comparison for the God stone hunt.
But despite my minor gripes:
TL;DR Enjoyed the series. Enjoyed these last three books. Hope the writer gets over his crippling video game addiction and writes more.

Cringy start led to a brilliant book
Revisado: 07-02-20
At first I shared some other reviewers comments at omg how annoying is this main character. But like in many great -adult- sci fi books I have read or listened too, there are multiple main characters.
Without spoiling anything I would just have to say if the first bit of the book has you feeling annoyed or aggrivated with anything mentioned then just stick with it.
This is one sci fi story that makes you feel the writer did a lot of research on and truly let's you appreciate a tale that seems very possible, maybe even prophetic in some parts even while being science fiction.
I also thought the narrator did a really good job.
And at the end it even seems like their is a positive moral message for all human kind just like the BOOK (not the distilled movie) The Martian.

like the Kramer/Reading team but prefer first VA
Revisado: 05-07-20
This was a really good sequel and follow up to the first book, which I am -so- glad I kept returning to despite a slow start.
nothing wrong with slow starting books in the fantasy genre though, as a lot of them take a bit to get in to. More so with the epic sagas such as Brent Weeks Lightbringer (his most recent works) the Prince of Thorns trilogy and related books (I can't tell you how many people have told me they couldn't make it past the arrogant, almost downright evil anti hero the Prince was. But maybe I just am better, though not the best admittedly)at seperating reality with fiction then some.
Recently as my audibook log reaches nearly 400 books I have branched out in to many different genres in order to become a better (amateur) writer. In the hopes I can write some novels that are so fantastic as some of the series that had me laughing and sometimes crying (im a big guy with way to much empathy which is an ironic/funny combo I am told)
and this book series seems like it is going to be one of those (see I made a good review without spoiling things or being overly outspoken in my -oppinions- of why it is good or what if anything they could have done better (and I don't really see anything to poke holes in this series unless I want to ASSume you want to hear the type of elitist, often times biased breakdowns that some of the "well known" movie critics on Rotten tomatoes give.
My only minor complaint was I either liked the first narrator better, as I LOVE Michael Kramer but his women all sound like Michael Kramer doing a bad drag-queen impression.
but I am going through a rough time in my life. and being able to hear Michael Kraemer and Kate Redding (spelling*) read me this novel after I have just lost my 23 year old cat, means a great deal to me. and more then makes up for Kramers women and Readings men.
Because I got through the whole Wheel Of Time saga listening to them - while I needed an escape while my dad was dying of cancer 2 years ago- and it is just like coming back to hear old friends when you hear their voices.
so all in all. I can easily forgive them for not being the most epic voice actors ever. because most people only have a limited voice range and pitch they can work with. and these two seem too have mastered theirs quite well so please cut them some slack.
