Historia
Two police officers are about to head home after a long night shift when they receive one last call. En route to investigate, the patrol car spins off the road, killing one of the exhausted cops and leaving the other in critical condition. Detective Peter Diamond is assigned to look into the case. His supervisor is desperately hoping Diamond will not discover the officers were at fault. Instead Diamond discovers something even worse - a civilian on a motorized tricycle was involved in the crash and has been lying on the side of the road for hours.

Lovesey continues his entertaining series with an intriguing story and Peter Diamond’s engaging and sometimes prickly personality. Another winner.

Out of shame about her father’s secret career as a writer of “slavery porn”, she hid the books from herself and from her growing mixed-race family for more than a decade.

This was a surprise
Revisado: 12-23-17
Would you listen to We Are Legion (We Are Bob) again? Why?
Yes. I found the main character likable and the plot interesting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character's journey from the modern present to a future 100+ years later was hard to take at first and I could relate to his reaction. Yet, he has the type of personality that adjusts and is curious instead of being stubborn and pessimistic. I liked his ability to take advantage of his situation and use the tools at hand. He was also altruistic and fair-minded.
What about Ray Porter’s performance did you like?
I thought Ray's voice matched my mind's view of the character perfectly. Moreover, his diction was good and it was easy to understand everything that the character does and feels.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
An unlikely hero saves humanity!

Historia
Even the sunny clime of a Florida beach town has its dark undercurrents. When the body of a real estate agent is found floating in the water just off the panhandle near Santa Rosa Island, only one woman has the wits and knows the ways of the waters to track down her killer. That woman is Carla Harper, though she's not exactly in the best spirits these days to go chasing the bad guys. Tumbling in the Downdrift is the debut novel by T. K. Hatfield that tells a searing story of murder and betrayal, with a loyal mutt thrown in for good measure.

Entertaining and showcases the U.S. Coast Guard!
Revisado: 09-04-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It would make a great beach read and introduces people to the U.S. Coast Guard, a military service worth learning about.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Tumbling in the Downdrift?
The fight on the beach.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Carla is presenting Deegan (the FBI agent) with the information that she has learned from her personal investigation of Crystal's death.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions but that is why I liked the book. It was pleasant to listen to without being overly dramatic. I loved the relationship between Carla and her mother.
Any additional comments?
I would love to read more about Carla, Jolie, and Mollie and their adventures. The narrator, Tracy Tenney, was perfect for this book.

Stay with it
Revisado: 02-11-15
Would you consider the audio edition of City of Golden Shadow to be better than the print version?
The beginning wasn't slow but I wasn't sure it was my kind of book. I am a "mature" woman who has always loved fantasy and science fiction literature but nothing too violent or "weird." However, Irene's character grabbed me and once I started to understand what was happening and how all of the characters were involved in some way, shape, or form (literally) I was hooked. Well worth listening to. I am considering buying the print book to read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Irene. Her relationship with her father is interesting and not unfamiliar. Her strong feelings for her younger brother. Her relationship with Kabu. These qualities are all very interesting.
Which scene was your favorite?
I haven't finished the book yet but my favorite scene was after [spoiler alert] Thurguard discovers that Fredericks is a girl.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Too long. But i sure take longer walks with the dog to get through as much as I can!
Any additional comments?
An intelligent "read."
