Picks up speed
Revisado: 07-28-24
Took awhile to get used to the narrator. She’s great in movies but reading several parts was interesting for her. Story was great. A little slow at first but when it rolled it rolled. Would recommend.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

Grisham doesn’t disappoint
Revisado: 07-24-24
Took me awhile to get used to the narrator but eventually settled in. It’s just another John Grisham book to love. Always makes me want to go down South and see/live the culture.

Revisado: 06-02-24
General McRaven is a treasure and has a great story telling voice too. I’m proud of our military personnel and the stories this book are exciting but also humbling. We are a blessed nation and there are so many young men and women doing thankless work and I am thankful for their efforts.

Ken Langone has seen it all on his way to a net worth beyond his wildest dreams. A pillar of corporate America for decades, he's a co-founder of Home Depot, a former director of the New York Stock Exchange, and a world-class philanthropist (including $200 million for NYU's Langone Health). In this memoir he finally tells the story of his unlikely rise and controversial career. It's also a passionate defense of the American Dream - of preserving a country in which any hungry kid can reach the maximum potential of his or her talents and work ethic.

Success is a good thing
Revisado: 08-23-23
Those offended at this guys story hate capitalism so let’s get that out of the way. I’m not rich but I appreciate those that know how to make a business profitable and will grow it. I have a great job because of those kind of people. I appreciate hearing their stores of failure and success. We can learn from them. Capitalism is awesome and I love it too! Great book.

Hadn’t heard of this guy before but I enjoyed it. The book makes sense and those that rate it poorly probably don’t like opposing arguments. Either way it was interesting to listen to.

For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

Values we need reminded off…
Revisado: 04-06-23
I enjoyed the book for the most part. The values are what’s being lost in a “give me” society. It was a little self-righteous a few times but I think his intention were in the right place. I’d recommend it for the reminder of how to get through the hard times.

The principles are great
Revisado: 06-22-21
The book has a lot of focus on public speaking but the principles of communication are plenty in this book. Focus on the principles and it’s very applicable anywhere in life. To those that feel it’s religious…lighten up. The dude started out as a minister before becoming a successful leadership author and speaker. Of course he’ll use his experiences of communications from his personal experiences teaching and speaking. He’s not trying to convert anyone. Focus on the principles of communicating and you’ll survive and still not be a church going person. To everyone else interested in the book it’s one of the best books I’ve listened to regarding communication. So much good stuff in here and not boring to listen too.
