good but wanted more!!
Revisado: 09-24-24
thought it was very good and very well written and performed but at the same time I was expecting more. but this very well MAYBE the way covert stuff goes but just again thought it'd be more cat and mouse and more going on but it is a series. so maybe the 2nd will deliver more now that the stage has been set.

When Lane Coolman's car is bashed from behind on the road to the Florida Keys, what appears to be an ordinary accident is anything but (this is Hiaasen!). Behind the wheel of the other car is Merry Mansfield - the eponymous Razor Girl - and the crash scam is only the beginning of events that spiral crazily out of control while unleashing some of the wildest characters Hiaasen has ever set loose.

great story pretty bad performance, especially if you listened to bad monkey
Revisado: 09-03-24
performance I didn't like as all the characters sounded the same unless he was doing a ridiculous accent or some kind of voice I don't know what. they shoulda just got the sane guy cause in this dudes performance he gives a detective who has already been established with a Latin/Florida accent in the 1st one and is a character NAMED ROJILLIO BURTON, who sounds like the whitest, good old boy when this guy does his voice and again the character is Spanish and was already voiced with a Spanish accent. So to just change what the writer and previous reader of bad monkey did is dumb. loved the story though lol

Great story and loved the time, setting and colorful but realistic characters
Revisado: 05-01-24
Great story and loved the time, setting and colorful but realistic characters. some characters go through their changes, others don't and it all blends for a great tale of family, friends, enemies, would have and should haves and heart breaking things that happen. highly recommend.

loved this 2nd novel in the trilogy
Revisado: 04-20-24
loved the character arcs. some changed so much in 4 years, some in midst of changing, some have changed and change again, just wonderfully done. loved dark mill south. and how this story had the communication between student and teacher via jades papers but how it's done in this 2nd book was one of my favorite parts. Can't wait to start the 3rd and final installment in these great books. Steven Graham Jones is cementing himself as one of the newer writers i genuinely like and love the slasher genre and how this has its own rules while following the slasher rules and creating some new ones. along with shout outs to iconic MOVIE deaths like Casey Becker-Scream, Kevin Bacon- Friday the 13th and many more.

loved the story and loved the way it was told
Revisado: 10-11-23
some people might not like the style with which it's told, but I loved it. made it feel more real, the characters to hear what others say about them and then hear their version of what happened during this hurricane was great cause you could form an opinion about one character and someone else might see them totally different. the way it shows how this kids raised on phones and internet and don't even know what a landline phone or a time you couldn't just stream any movie or show at anytime. and I'm not surprised things turned the way they did. if this was a different generation I think things woulda went different not better or worse but def different. highly recommend this. the performances were great I thought, the characters colorful, interesting, scary, sad all that. and just a great time all around.

good and worth a read, didn't care for the end
Revisado: 10-11-23
good read, liked the main characters not too deep but enough you understand them and a very good job of capturing the feeling of a town gripped in fear, but again when I heard the authors note at the end, it was a kick in my balls but worth the listen

love Holly gibney but this felt different
Revisado: 09-15-23
still a very good story but holly just didn't seem like her authentic self in this book. for some reason to me, not as big with jerome and Barbra or another detective, always liked seeing her interact and work with people she didn't know before. but again very good read and any king or Holly fan should enjoy it
