Historia
The man who became known as Esrahaddon is reported to have destroyed the world’s greatest empire—but there are those who believe he saved it. Few individuals are as divisive, but all agree on three facts: He was exiled to the wilderness, hunted by a goblin priestess, and sentenced to death by a god—all before the age of eight. How he managed to survive and why people continued to fear his name a thousand years later has always been a mystery...until now.

Historia
“Don’t trust their lies. Don’t trust their false peace.” That is the warning that Alanik of the planet ReDawn gave the human pilot Spensa after Alanik’s ship crash-landed on Detritus. While accepting an invitation to meet with her people’s enemy, the Galactic Superiority, Alanik heard Spensa’s cry for help across the vastness of space, and she used her cytonic powers to hyperjump her ship to the source of that cry. What she found there was a shock - a whole planet of free humans fighting against the Superiority. Were they the allies her people desperately needed?

Early Spensa
Revisado: 11-30-21
you are a sneaky little person aren't you brandon. you have weave together a fourth book in this series brilliantly and i must commend you. sure this looks like three short stories but really this feels like the story of FM.
and it's such an important part of the whole series now that i've read it that i wouldn't even ever exclude it. the main character truly feels like an early version of Spensa. to the point where i really couldn't stand her for a few chapters again brilliantly written because i really liked her by the end.

Historia
When the great red star Calamity appeared in the sky, some believed the end had come. They were right. Calamity created the Epics: humans with incredible powers they didn't deserve. They could have saved mankind. They could have lifted us into harmony and prosperity. Instead they burned. They slaughtered. They conquered. And then they ruled. Jax has learned all of this the hard way. Orphaned at an early age, he's spent most of his childhood training to be a Reckoner - determined to find the Epics' weaknesses, unlock their secrets, and protect those of us who are still left.

Sanderson, never lend your name to something else
Revisado: 08-25-21
This book is bad. Terrible. It starts off great. You can tell that clearly Sanderson was heavily editing or wrote most of the first act. Though it's one long flash back, it work.
Then at some point Bohls takes over and its enough horrible writing to make me wonder did this guy ever attend any of Sanderson's commentaries on writing.
First, the main hero can do no wrong. He's super smart, PHD caliber, and super buff , and super good at swords, and super good at spying and sneaking. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear he was an epic himself. He just is superior , more so than the actual super villians.
Then we have super villians are are 1980s level of stupid. I"m talking leaving people in a jail cell with their friends unguarded type stupid. I'm talking constantly sparing the hero for no real reason other than , as ryan george would say, we need the book to happen.
I was ready by the third act to give this book at least a 2. The narrator is phenomenal through this drub. But then all the happy coincodences happen. The main hero happens to find his long lost nemesis. Which makes NO sense. considering he's from boston, they are in texas and the entire setting of all the villians was in texas. This is so disjointed it was an automatic 1. I had to listen to the rest of the book on 2x just to get this over with.
The author is afraid to have his heroes face real consequences. Only people die in this book that are heroes are over 60(maybe 70). Heroes survive in absurd , physics defying ways.
Brandon, please , never lend your name to a pitch for one of your worlds again. This is drub and well beneath you.

Ledger is Back and He will never be the same
Revisado: 08-10-21
It took me two weeks to build up the courage to read this book. After the results o the last book, I had no idea how Ledger was going to come back.
This book traverses from continent to continent , focusing on Ledger and 2 other teams while building up one of the most formible oppositions Joe has faced. Every second was nail biting.
Do note, as you read reviews, there are quite a few people upset that that Joe Ledger is not about left or right wing racists. You can read how targeted they feel. I hope that doesnt sway you from reading this great book. I"ve read all 11, Joe has always been apolitical and after the bad guys. That means racists and warmongers.

Great Full LEngth Novel

I was a bit leary about a full length novel considering how perfect the bites are. But this worked great and the writer didn't stretch out a story as much as provide us with a story worthy of the page count.

I can never say enough about this series. It's not the best Drew Hayes series , but considering Drew Hayes is one of the best authors out you won't find a lot of books that beats this level of character development and quirky plots.
Can I also say the narrator of this series is money. His range of voices is phenomenal .

New Narrator? Why
Revisado: 02-24-20
I am a few chapters into this book and realized that it is just working. I am thoroughly intrigued by the story but the narrator just runs her character voices together.
Dear Author, why in the world did you not push for the same author. That voice IS Irene. This woman's Irene sounds dry, drab and feels like someone reading a book and not someone voicing a character. The sarcasm and quick wit falls flat because of her dull delivery. This is an awesome story but I can't deal with the remainder of this book with this awful narration.

1/3 of a Book
Revisado: 02-18-20
I don't even want to waste the words. I am livid. This book, also does not finish a story.
There are two types of people in the world, those that loved the last season of Game of thrones, and those that realized it lacked a complete narrative and disliked it in varying degrees. If you liked pretty dragons and just want to see read about cool heroes, this won't effect you. The latter folk will hate this book for bating and switching.
There are so many scenes in this novel, like the last, that with proper editing could be tightened up. I am convinced, more than anything, that this series is being stretched for profit.
This series initially was 4 books. For some type of cashgrab the last book was broken up into 3 books. There doesn't need to be 3 books. Honestly, halfway through we were following Perstephanie in scenes that felt like they wasted time, as she doesn't reappear for the remainder of the book. I noted those scenes, because if you take them out, you miss nothing of the book.
TO say i am furious is an understatement. So either this is a cashgrab or inept editing. These cliffhangers aren't cliffhangers, These books are ending literally in the middle of unresolved plots with no other plot being resolved.
Spoiler
At the end of this book Sirie is still trapped inthe elf city, the heroes are still in the abyss (and once again appear to have been dead) and nothing has resolved. Dragons apparently are in the main world but there's no narrative part that leads to this . (fake cliffhanger).
