I have read all o f Gregory Ashe's books and as they come out in audio I immediately buy them. I was so disappointed that Tristan James didn't narrate this book. Charlie David did and doesn't deliver the quailty of narrative storytelling this book deserves. He is mediocre when it comes to narrating, he reads the book. You might as well listen text to speach. He is one of three narrators I try not to buy in a audible. I hope Mr. Ashe makes a better decision who narrates his next book in this series. Having said that this is a wonderful series. If you liked Somerst and North you will like this series. Two long time friends open a detective agency. A unrequited love, a bad marriage, a mysterious uncle, a dying father, a stalker, a cantankerous receptionist and many more colorfull characters. This is just my opinion and I don't want to causes loss of sales because I don't like the narrator. I had given a better review on the book in Goodreads.

One of my favorite vampire stories

Funny, snarky and bloody. A newly turned vampire, a 1700 year old vampire, begin an adventure that includes hunters, a father who's trying to reverse the vampires back to human. A power trip of the elders. Mayhem,intrigue and lots of blood and guts. I've listen to this series twice and will listen again and again.

Great ending

I love these books and would like to see more of them. You have to read these is sequence from Real Vampires Don't Sparkle and Real Vampires Do It In The Dark. Each of the first two books end in cliff hangers so don't miss out on the beginning.

A good series and great audio

I've read all three books. I was very happy that Michael Ferraiuolo was the narrator. I hope he does the remaining two. The series is a feel good story with a HEA ending. The characters are funny and interesting. A variety of characters from human (?), a pig , pheasants,and baby dragons.

OMG, what a wonderful book. D Lance Black makes a tribute to his mother and his southern roots. His mother came down with polio when she was 2, and lost the use of her legs. She raised 3 boys, lived a life full of love and wisdom. Get the tissues ready because there are parts you will cry through. She taught her boys there is always hope but you have to fight for it. This is one of the best biographical I've read. Lance narrated this book and honestly no one else could do it better. I usually don't like authors narrating their own books because most don't have the voice or emotion that a professional narrator can put forth. But the emotion that Lance shows throughout this read makes it worth a listen too. He shows the vulnerability of a child, the anxiety of a teenager and the sorrow of losing those close to him. With all that said it is a optimistic and happy book. It's just a slice of life from a southern family and the trial and tribulations that they go through.z

Good ending to a great series.

This is the most heart rending of all thr books. What sacrifices that have to be made to keep the ones you love safe. The ending to Peter's and Gio's tale is heart rending. The betrayal of those you trust and the lengths that they go through to get what they want. This is a good ending to a long saga. I will definitely listen to this series again .

The story gets better

We delve into more of the danger that faces Jamie and Kage. What Kage has to do to keep Jamie alive . The journals continue of Peter's and Gio's lifes. The narrator does a wonderful interruption of the characters as they age.

Wonderful sequel

I've read all the Kage books and couldn't think they could get any better. Santori just takes the story to next level. Kage is given journals of his late uncle Peter and in reading them discovers a hidden history of why the man was who he became. I can't wait to read the second and third books to discover this family history.

Baby dragon and his hoard

This is my favorite book of the series . I have listen to this book at least five times and it always brings a smile to my face. This is the third of five books in the series and in my opinion is the most entertaining . The first four books have been narrated by Albert Black and I would love to see book five also be narrated but unfortunately at this time it is not.
