clever plot, great characters, enjoy the narration (I listen on 1.3x speed). I'm really enjoying this series! I even laughed out loud on three separate occasions. :)

Literally the best interview books I've listened to are this one and The Job Closer by Steve Dalton.

I recommend using both of them. They complement each other.

Both books have ways for you to brainstorm and organize your stories -- much better ways than I've tried to do.

I can't recommend these two books highly enough.

I'm so grateful I found them.

Coben has created characters that had me fully invested and wanting more. I happily confirmed that there will be more Wilde books. Loved the novel & narration - an exciting thriller and in my 3 listens this year.

NARRATION:
Steven Weber is *amazing*. He doesn't just narrate -- it's full on acting. The emotion and nuance he uses in dialogue blows my mind. How can he rapidly shift back and forth (e.g. a scared character talking to a calm character, or alternating btwn different accents and unique intonations)? How? I have always been smitten with Weber. Weird, his narrating voice sounds deeper than his TV voice, and I wouldn't recognize it was him. Weber is astonishingly talented as a narrator.

I enjoyed Scott Brick's early days as an audiobook narrator (20ish years ago) but by the time he was narrating Coben's novels, I felt he was too bombastic. Over the top loud, yet difficult to understand his deep-voiced mumbles during my interstate commute no matter how I manipulated my stereo's settings. I'm thrilled Weber is Coben's go-to narrator now.

NOVEL (no spoilers):
I'm a long time Coben fan since the 1990s. "The Boy From the Woods' is one of his best.
Coben's plotting is complex, but surprisingly easy to follow. Some scenes of the novel were visceral and had me alternatively gasping in shock, or aching in empathy. Rich characterization, excellent pacing, and twists I didn't see coming. Even that last hour I was still stymied. Coben's scene describing an overt scheme to manipulate social media for political gain -- the extent of it -- had me reeling. The political element is one important thread of the story, but does NOT dominate the plot *at all* if you avoid novels with politics. It is definitely a straight-up crime thriller, and one of my favorite listens this year.

Definitely room for a prequel about Wilde's early security team days. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Wilde, Hester, and his other compelling characters (no spoilers!)
