I found myself caring about the protagonist immediately as she watched her life implode. I appreciated how the author didn't linger too long on the bad guy; it drives me nuts when the main character waffles around too long about a decidedly bad situation. But Annie pulls herself together and heads out, looking for something new. The small town that she ends up in is so charming ~ I wanted to move there too!

Excellent descriptions of characters and locations ~ she offers plenty of details without getting bogged down. I loved the characters in her new town ~ it would be great to hear more about them in the future. Her new apartment sounds like a perfect, cozy sanctuary complete with a resident furry friend. The food descriptions were amazing ~ my mouth was watering for a bowl of good soup. I appreciated the family history that tied everything together. The magical elements were just right ~ interesting, without straining credulity too far. This is one of those books that I wish I could jump right into and be a part of myself. I'd love to join her women's group!

The Scarlet Armadillo was a fun, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable story. My only quibble might be the title. It doesn't pull you in and people might be missing a very entertaining book because of the title. Other than that, I really liked this book and will be reading anything else this author publishes. Also, her narration was wonderful. Every character was distinct, the accents were realistic and consistent, and her excellent narration made it a joy to listen to. I listen to audiobooks on my commute and know it's a good one when I find myself sitting in my driveway even after I've arrived home, because I want to hear just a bit more of the story. This was one of those books.

Great performance and a fun listen!

This was my first audiobook narrated by E Vane and I’ll definitely watch for more books by her. She worked the characters into the story with such skill that character transitions were seem less. Her voice is very pleasant to listen to, as well. The story, unlike some shape shifters I’ve listened to, had depth and was meaningful to me. Great, fun listen!

Another Sweet Romance - Barbara Never Dissappoints

Another sweet romance with wonderful characters and a terrific story that swept me up from page one. Becky Boyd does a great job narrating this book, as well. Her characterizations are exactly what my imagination expected... not always easy to do, and she nails it! Keep 'em coming!
