Disappointed

This could have been a FANTASTIC book BUT unfortunately the author decided to inject current politics. So disappointed in the author and publisher..... an another example of how a potentially wonderful historical story was used to try to influence. I am very apolitical in all forms of entertainment. I listened to the entire story hoping it would go to center. Disappointed and probably the last of this author and maybe publisher's work that I will purchase. For me if there is a slant to either side, I will no longer buy the work.

Enlightening

I read at listen 10 books a month and I could not stop until finished. At times I was conflicted, horrified, intrigued, sympathetic, interested and educated. It never amazes me how much people can endure and overcome. Highly recommend this book.

Wanted to like it

I really wanted to like this book but I struggled listening the entire time. It seemed like forced women empowerment that lacked all credibility. Characters and plot poorly put together. It was like someone flipped through all the news channels then try to come up with a book. I generally love Patterson it sometimes when his books are co-written, they are lack luster and disjointed. Hated the voice of the reader.

Waste of Money

I listen 15-20 books a month and I could not even finish this one. The define plot nonexistent and after a few hours the voice of performer was like nails on a chalk board. One of the few books, I have not been able to finish!

Mixed review

I read 5-10 books a week and this one did nitrate high with me. The writer has a grandiose view of himself which I didn’t appreciate. I think evidence can be twisted and his later cases seemed to be a bit of a sell out. I don’t know the facts of the cases so not opinions of guilt but question how much was left out. Ok book but didn’t rank high with me.

Excellent! The words flow from
The pages flowed like a river. The description of the low country and life on the marsh especially appealing as it rang so true. Loved characters in book and how you vividly understood them. The story and plot were excellent. The end quite predictable but I loved it.

Disappointed

I am huge Patterson and Alex Cross series fan. This was the first that was a disappointment. I am not sure if it was narrator reading the book or just general story. I really did not care for the performance and don’t think I would purchase any other books with this narrator. I struggled to listen to the entire book and almost quick several times. The story line seemed forced.
