Historia
Is your parenting journey turning out differently than you imagined? You had so much love to give, but now you feel ashamed and bewildered by your lack of compassion. You may be experiencing blocked care—a self-protective mechanism in your nervous system that makes it difficult to connect with your child and maintain compassion. When it happens, it’s like your heart seems to have left the relationship. But the good news is you are not a bad parent. You can heal from blocked care, and compassion can be rekindled in your heart.

Every Foster/Adoptive Parent needs this book!

I read Reclaim Compassion when it was released in hard copy format, but listening through it again is such a great and needed refresher. It feels like sitting and having a cup of coffee with mentors. The overwhelming need to release shame as an adoptive mom was so needed. Listen to this book if you struggle to like your kid even though you love them. Listen to this book if you feel like no one understands your situation…because Lisa and Melissa have walked through this journey and have so much wisdom to share!

Historia
In her first work of nonfiction, the beloved star of Gilmore Girls and Parenthood recounts her experiences on Gilmore Girls - the first and second times - and shares stories about life, love, and working in Hollywood. This collection of essays is written in the intimate, hilarious, and down-to-earth voice that made her novel, Someday, Someday, Maybe, a New York Times best seller.

Lauren is as witty and quirky as Lorelei herself! Read only if you're ready for fast pace and random! Personally the best memoir I've read in years.

Historia
Many know Kimberly Williams-Paisley as the bride in the popular Steve Martin remakes of the Father of the Bride movies, the calculating Peggy Kenter on Nashville, or the wife of country megastar Brad Paisley. But in 2014, Williams-Paisley revealed a tragic secret: Her mother had been diagnosed with a rare form of dementia called primary progressive aphasia at the age of 61.

Such a gifted storyteller! I highly recommend this book for any family member of a dementia patient. The honesty is so refreshing as you hear the emotion in Kim's voice. Thankful for this book!
