Got through three chapters and the story was still on chapter one. Skipped two more chapters, still on chapter one. I'm giving up. The terminology related to the supposed AI or programming is all wrong, not a good sign for the rest of the book. There is going to be password cracking with numbers scrolling fast on the computer screen. I can feel it. Goddard Space Flight Center is in Greenbelt, Maryland, at one point, which is correct, but 10 minutes later it appears in Virginia. I liked other books of the author but this one is a disappointment.

Refreshing storytelling of the postapocaliptic genre. Fun times. Many laught out laugh out loud moments because we all die. Or do we? Lost me at the very end probably because of my ringing in the ear. Or maybe a case of a sellout. I can't say because my left ear rings. It was a fun listen.

then it turned into a confusing and unnecessary series of attempts to explain how time travel works. Time travel is not possible so let's just leave it alone at "it's magic" instead of using scientific terms and frequently getting the real science behind them wrong. It ended as a mushy, sentimental romance novel. Not what one would expect from a tim travel-themed suspense novel. Great performance by Christopher Lane.

For some reason whoever was in charge of production decided to distract me and probably other listeners with strange noises and "music" in the background. The narrator, normally a good one, sounds in narration of this book like Duke Nukem. I do not recommend this production of what I'm sure is otherwise a great story. I'm returning the audiobook.
