this has been on my reading list for years, and I'm thrilled it's finally in audio. <10 hours is a shorter audiobook for my normal listening habits, so i'm doubly saddened to say it went far too quickly!
I was not sure about the narrator while listening to the sample but am happy I took a chance on it, her voice suits the book quite well.

headline says it all. interesting story, but a lot of stylistic elements in the writing that feel unusual/odd because it is a (drumroll) 100 year old novel. Narration is excellent

truth is stranger than fiction

i had to remind myself throughout this book that it's meant to be a straight autobiography. that's hard to believe at some points - the narrative is incredible and the events are wild. the story does not suffer from those creeping doubts, however - it just makes it all the more interesting to suss out.

I listened to this in the background during slow parts of the workday. As a huge history buff I enjoyed the overview of the history of the "american" frontier as it was understood from a historical perspective. Narrator's voice/tone was a perfect fit for the subject
