if you liked the walking dead series you will like this. Lots of undead and scary situations. Not just being asking the dead that they have to worry about.

Family importance and good values from the good guys in a zombie book. it was almost too military for me but it worked. it wasn't too long either. just a good one day read.

New Version Narrator disappointing

Love these books but prefer the much better narration in the previous audio edition. Couldn't find it to buy here so I had to take this version. Bought the better audio version on CDs to download myself so I can listen to it in the future. I feel that version matches the way I read it and the movies. The pauses in time from this narrator drive me crazy. I think they only chose a younger narrator, but not a better one for this.

Starts out explaining bias. one sided podcast

I like my history to include both prescriptions with limited bias. Letting listeners drive their own conclusions. I suppose the discussion on being tempted to give students passing grades and being proud of Harvard at this point should've warned me up front. I will continue to look at historical documents from both sides not contaminated by Lincoln's glow for truth. it was a very dynamic time, we agree on that.

Great premise...

I really wanted to like this. It was a great concept. Apocalypse, crazies, aliens...it should have been one I couldn't stop listening too overnight. I just never cared enough for the characters. A few spots I thought it would catch and pick up just fell flat. it was just a story that I could listen to if I had nothing else to do. I replay my favorites but this one won't make the list. Not inspired to buy the series. I think it tried really hard to make a positive character for every type of listener, prepper, military, gamers, etc.., just not enough to hook me into caring what happens to them. I hope the series improves after this first book, but I personally won't know. Hope others enjoy it more. Good luck, God bless.
