Historia
In both sports and war, athletes and soldiers must work to have a mental edge to successfully deal with all that they encounter. While success for both is typically defined as overcoming their respective opponents, the reality is that their victories can never happen unless they’ve first won their internal battles. I Declare War is a practical guide for fighting our inner war, the struggle against sin that breaks us down and fills our lives with pain and suffering, in turn making us feel weak and inadequate.

Every church is driven by some controlling force: tradition, finances, programs, events, personalities, or even the building itself. But author and pastor Dr. Rick Warren, the founder of Saddleback Valley Community Church in California, believes that a church can only be truly healthy if it becomes "purpose-driven," built around the 5 goals Jesus stated in the New Testament.

I really enjoyed Levi's stories and detail on such painful and difficult challenges life threw at him. The way he finds God and introduces us to seeking his plan in everything was amazing considering the topic of death is so tough.

Crashing the chatterbox = Overpowering lies of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement with the promises of God. “I used to think that someone who struggled with the kinds of weaknesses I deal with daily was useless to God. I felt so often like I was drowning in internal dialogue I couldn’t control. It had been the soundtrack of my life for as long as I could remember.

We feel unqualified to do God’s work or to live out the possibilities we imagine. But God has a way of using our weaknesses for good. In fact, God loves unqualified people.

Really loved the book and its content. Not my favorite narrator compared to Steven furtick reading his other books. Some great phrases I could use to encourage and inspire others in my small group. Many great stories to share with people that I study with.

Great Book & Great Stories
Revisado: 05-11-18
Great book, well written and the story about a book that's about a story sounded odd at first. However, the stories together with his perspective make life worth living. Favorite part was the chapter, about mid way thru, that went in detail about the hiking trip on the Inca Trails.
