Love this series
Revisado: 11-29-13
I have listened to the entire series. These are easy listening stories - not complex murders full of gore, interweaved with the lives of needle pointers. I am waiting (hopefully) for the next story.

Historia
Explore the power of the underdog in Malcolm Gladwell's dazzling examination of success, motivation, and the role of adversity in shaping our lives, from the best-selling author of The Bomber Mafia. Three thousand years ago on a battlefield in ancient Palestine, a shepherd boy felled a mighty warrior with nothing more than a stone and a sling, and ever since then the names of David and Goliath have stood for battles between underdogs and giants. David's victory was improbable and miraculous. He shouldn't have won. Or should he have?

Another great book from Wally
Revisado: 11-29-13
Very engaging sort line, enjoy how the author ties past and present together. Storyline was really good. Only thing I didn't like was the female reader for Anne / Anna - seem to be a bit dramatic when not needed. Wally Lamb did an excellent job as Orion and Kent (he was really creepy sounding). Love Wally Lambs other books.

Historia
In the heart of America, a metropolis is quietly destroying itself. Detroit, once the richest city in the nation, is now its poorest. Once the vanguard of America’s machine age - mass production, automobiles, and blue-collar jobs - Detroit is now America’s capital for unemployment, illiteracy, foreclosure, and dropouts. With the steel-eyed reportage that has become his trademark and the righteous indignation that only a native son can possess, journalist Charlie LeDuff sets out to uncover what has brought low this once-vibrant city, his city.

He tells it like it is
Revisado: 11-29-13
I am from the suburbs of Detroit and it was easy to picture all of the places Charlie takes you. Learned things about area (good & bad) I didn't know. Also interesting stories of some of the local politics - people should be ashamed of themselves! Charlie is a great character and the reader did a good job in capturing that personality

I didn't care for this one! Story line was odd and seemed to try to hard to interweave with stars of the time.

What a guy Steve Jobs was, he was visionary but couldn't see how he hurt others when they were right in front of him. Story kept you engaged and wanting more. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent -you gotta love Jobs inspite of himself.

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Another Gillian Flynn Hit
Revisado: 05-19-13
What did you love best about Dark Places?
I love the way Gillian Flynn writes - she weaves hers storyline beautifully. She takes you in a direction only to add a twist when you get there. I have read her other books - Gone Girl and Sharp Objects - both excellent (5 stars across the board). Loved Gone Girl, what a plot!!! Gillian Flynn does not disappoint you - always a wow ending.
What other book might you compare Dark Places to and why?
Sharp Objects and Gone Girl
Which scene was your favorite?
The ending of course!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely
