Historia
Following the death of her husband, Lady Darby has taken refuge at her sister's estate, finding solace in her passion for painting. But when one of the house guests is murdered, her brother-in-law asks her to aid the insufferable Sebastian Gage - a fellow guest with some experience as an inquiry agent. While Gage is clearly more competent than she first assumed, Kiera isn't about to let her guard down, as accusations and rumors swirl.

Monotone Narration
Revisado: 04-29-25
I recently tried to listen to this book for a second time. I pushed through the first chapters thinking the narration would get better. It did not. Unless I need to fall asleep, I will not attempt a third time. I did get up to Chapter 14 this time.

Historia
Meg Langslow's summer is not going swimmingly. In her small Virginia hometown, she's the maid of honor at the nuptials of three loved ones - each of whom has dumped the planning in her hands. One bride is set on including a Native American herbal purification ceremony while another wants live peacocks on the lawn. But when an offensive newcomer, who hints at skeletons in the guests' closets, is found dead under suspicious circumstances, level-headed Meg's to-do list extends from flower arrangements and bridal registries to catching a killer - before the next event is her own funeral.

Checked Off My to Do List
Revisado: 04-02-24
I could not finish the first chapter. The writing is simplistic. The protagonist allows everyone and everything to push her around. I did not want to hear the oft repeated phrase, "The NotebookThat Tells Me What To Do." I tried the book - I purchased with a credit just in case. But I was not allowed to return it. I cannot even get it out of my library.

These tales are well written and expertly performed. I am hoping the author continues her excellent work. Her mysteries are well plotted, and the historical details are both accurate and well described.

Historia
After 10 years of cleaning up the dirt on Atlanta's streets, Callahan Garrity is trading in her badge for a broom and a staff of house cleaners. But, though the uniform is a little different, Callahan soon finds herself right back in the middle of a mystery when a client's pretty, pious 19-year-old nanny is gone...along with the jewelry, silver, and a few rather sensitive real estate documents. Before she knows it, the meticulous Callahan is up to her elbows in a case involving illicit love triangles, crooked business deals, long-distance scams, and a dead body.

Author Confused about Religions
Revisado: 05-12-23
I agree with other reviews - a lot of unnecessary language and country-bumpkin stereotypes. Spoiler Alert! Also, if you are going to make a religious character a bad guy, you should research a little. Author thinks all Protestant religions are the same. Strong potential but a lousy story.

Barron is Back
Revisado: 02-09-23
The Author seemed to loose her way for two books in this series after Lord Harold’s death. But this installment and the previous title (The Madness of Lord Byron) renewed my love for this series. Compelling story.
