Let me tell you not to waste your time
Revisado: 04-11-25
This book is 20 chapters of her staying let them at the beginning of every sentence. Her vernacular is very poor and the life changing revelations are common sense from junior high. I can’t get my time and money back but maybe I can help someone else reading this review. I feel sorry for the Americans who felt this was a best seller and what their lives must look like.

Amazing Resource
Revisado: 09-21-24
What an amazing book. Will definitely read again and have already shared it with others. It is a great resource to have conversations at any age about sexual abuse and describing gender.

Historia
Americans precede anything negative with three nice comments; French, Dutch, Israelis, and Germans get straight to the point; Latin Americans and Asians are steeped in hierarchy; Scandinavians think the best boss is just one of the crowd. It's no surprise that when they try and talk to each other, chaos breaks out. In The Culture Map, INSEAD professor Erin Meyer is your guide through this subtle, sometimes treacherous terrain in which people from starkly different backgrounds are expected to work harmoniously together.

Historia
Social scientist Brené Brown has ignited a global conversation on courage, vulnerability, shame, and worthiness. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability—the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome—is the only path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

Good Quotes Rushed Writing
Revisado: 03-30-23
This book has a lot of beautiful quotes from great minds and how Berne applied them to situations in her life. The reader is expected to take those nuggets of wisdom and her rationale and apply them to their situations. I would have liked her to address the topic in her own words or share examples from other situations. Sounds like a college paper with quotes of brilliant minds and personal examples to defend their points of view.

Defining the true meaning of the “d” word (to instruct, not to shout or reprimand), the authors explain how to reach your child, redirect emotions, and turn a meltdown into an opportunity for growth.
