Holmes in a variety of settings

Takes the title "Curious" very literally
Revisado: 03-03-25
Collection of very odd stories that Holmes and Watson find themselves in. If you're open to expanding the world beyond what Conan Doyle set then this is for you, but it wasn't quite to my taste. Stories were interesting but some strange choices like in the first one, Waston refers to Holmes as "Sherlock" often which isn't how it's done in the canon. A little light on deductions and more focus on watching these strange scenarios play out.
Michael Langdon is an excellent narrator. Always enjoy listening to him voice another tale from Watson's notes

Historia
A seemingly innocent concern from Lestrade about his cousin leads Holmes back into a world left behind after the affair of The Five Orange Pips. Investigating the appearance of a body at the base of Tower Bridge unveils a hidden cult of Satanists performing ritual sacrifices, until Holmes and the British Secret Service intervenes. Called to Scotland Yard, Holmes is reunited with an old acquaintance and dragged into a plot to undermine the government and give its secrets to Russian spies.

Big improvement from Volume 1

Enjoyable listen overall.
Not as "out there" as vol. Characters stay close enough to the original series, if not 100% how Doyle would have written them. I feel like there was a slight lack of clues and deductions and more of the story unfolding as it went along without as much foreshadowing and opportunity for piecing together the mystery yourself before the end, but all of the stories had very interesting scenarios that I was intrigued to hear how they played out.
Narration was very good. Well spoken and easy to understand, with distinct voices for each character.
