Nice twist at end.
Revisado: 08-25-20
Good story over all. Nice twist at the end. Liked all characters with story. The narrator did an excellent job with his variety of voices. Not the first time I listened to his narration.

Historia
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

Something about it.

Just couldn’t really get into it the plot. Goes back and forth in time. Really didn’t like it but had to finish.

Historia
Picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night takes reluctant witch Diana Bishop and vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont on a trip through time to Elizabethan London, where they are plunged into a world of spies, magic, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the School of Night. As the search for Ashmole 782—the lost and enchanted manuscript whose mystery first pulled Diana and Matthew into one another's orbit—deepens and Diana seeks out a witch to tutor her in magic, the net of Matthew's past tightens around them.

Good story line
Revisado: 03-08-19
I was a fan of the Outlander series. Similar in story lines but lots of differences of course. Love magical story lines. Middle of book was hard to stay with. The second book was not a good as first. I will read the next in series but not the book of life which I don’t think should be book 3 from the reviews.
