Historia
Rincewind, inept wizard and reluctant hero, has found himself magically stranded on the Discworld's last continent. It's hot. It's dry. There was this thing once called The Wet, which no one believes in any more. Practically everything that's not poisonous is venomous. But it's the best bloody place in the world, all right? And in a few days, it will die. The only thing standing between the last continent and wind-blown doom is Rincewind, and he can't even spell wizard. Still...no worries, eh?

A fabulous addition to Rincewind’s story
Revisado: 08-26-24
One of the best installments of the Wizards/Rincewind’s story of the Discworld series!! Funny, engaging, and with great characters. Rincewind has grown a lot since we met him, and again manages to save the world.

The six Herdman children are “absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world”. They lie and steal and smoke cigars. They even burned down Fred Shoemaker’s old toolhouse. Now they’re taking over the Christmas pageant. The Herdmans have never heard the Christmas story before, and they don’t know anything about shepherds or Wise Men. When Imogene hears about the swaddling clothes, she demands to know why anyone would tie up a baby and put him in a feedbox.

A family tradition every Christmas
Revisado: 01-07-24
Every time I hear this story, I love it even more. We read it every Christmas, and it’s just so lovely. Told from the viewpoint of an unnamed narrator, whose mother is suddenly tasked with running the churches Christmas pageant, it tells the story of the worst family in town, who get all of the main parts in the Christmas pageant. And just how that changes both the family, and the community. So funny, so touching

Gets better each time!
Revisado: 05-18-23
This is the third of call of crows LA series, and I think the best yet. I love Erin and Stieg, and Erin’s snark always make me laugh. The pacing is brisk, Shelley has a real talent for writing battle scenes, and I loved the quick window into the dragon world of GA Aiken. The narration is talented, I have read and listen to this multiple times, and it just gets better and better!

Historia
John Pritkin has been trying to recover from a demon curse that separated his body and soul and almost killed him. The reunification has left him with a flood of memories to process, some that he recalls from his past and some that he doesn't, as well as wonky magic, fluctuating power levels, and a splitting headache. Something that only intensifies when he finds himself stuck in a city under siege - by his fellow war mages. As the only one not overwhelmed by a massive enthrallment spell, John must find a way to free his fellow mages before they destroy themselves.

A fabulous installment from Pritkin’s perspective
Revisado: 03-28-23
This was a free short story, mirroring Dragon’s Claw, which is Dorina’s mission. This is from Pritkin’s perspective, a fun change of pace from the main storyline, which are all from Cassie’s perspective. I don’t recommend tackling this as your first foray into the Cassandra Palmer series, but I can’t speak highly enough of what a fun romp through a demonic war zone this is! Karen Chance writes action unbelievably well, with a light touch that is so refreshing. This is absolutely one of my favorite stories in this world.

He has the muscles of Adonis, an ego bigger than the sun, and a very clear desire to get back in my pants. Which would be fantastic if he weren't a SEAL and I wasn't a criminal. Although, I prefer the term avenger. I'm a hacktivist, cleaning up the cesspool of cyberspace one scam artist and troll at a time, and I sometimes bend a few rules to get justice done. He's a military man with abs of glory, sworn to uphold the letter of the law no matter its shortcomings. And if he'd known who - or what - I was, I doubt he would've banged me at my best friend's wedding reception.

Revisado: 02-27-23
I’m a huge Pippa fan, but this is my favorite of the Band stories!! Eloise and Rhett are both laugh-out-loud funny, with a quirky love story that can’t help but charm! I own every Pippa book in ebook form, but this is one that I had to own on audio, as well. The narration definitely lives up to the story.

Historia
Cassie Palmer has been chief seer of the supernatural world for a little over four months. In that time, she's battled two gods, fallen in love with two men, and confronted the two sides of her own nature, both god and human. So it's not surprising that she currently finds herself facing two adversaries, although they have a single purpose: to wipe out the supernatural community's newest fighting force. To prevent catastrophe, the vamps, mages, and demons will have to do the one thing they've never managed before and come together as allies.

My new favorite in the series!!!
Revisado: 08-09-22
I am continually amazed at Karen Chance’s ability to write BETTER books with each installment in the series. I’m used to series trailing off in quality as the creator loses interest, but it’s safe to say Chance is still very invested! Nothing overdone, nothing repetitive; the characterizations continue to grow and evolve. She’s also a surprisingly effective battle writer— rapid movement, gripping action, but still moves the plot forward easily and smoothly. I’ve been reading these books for 13 years, and I’m continually panting for the next one!

From the moment that Jeeves walks through Bertie Wooster's door, Bertie gives up running his own affairs and lets Jeeves take charge. Whether it's the color of a tie, the style of a hat or a coat, Jeeves is always right. He is there to depend on in times of trouble, and such times are frequent in the lives of Bertie and his friends. Whether it's Corky's artistic career that needs boosting or Bingo Little's gloom that needs lifting, Jeeves can always be relied upon.

Luckily Wodehouse is a comedic master
Revisado: 09-05-21
Because I cannot bear this narrator. His inflection is hard to describe… condescending? Languid? Hard to say, but it is terrible for comedy. Jonathan Cecil is, hands down the best Wodehouse narrator I have encountered, with Alexander Spencer second.

Amazing story!!
Revisado: 11-19-20
Honestly, I love the badgers in this more than the love story. Ze and Max are sweet together, but what really made this an amazing read was the badger sisters, and Max’s badger teammates. I laughed out loud several times! I’m not a fan of this narrator, she emphasizes too many words in every sentence, and her accents are total crap. Mairi is properly pronounced Mary, which a quick Google search would have told her, but she insists on pronouncing is “Mah-ree.

Historia
Forged passports, secret maps, ingenious disguises, underground networks - in times of war, tales of escape and evasion can be even more spectacular and heroic than those of victory in battle. Many of the most famous escapes in history took place during World War II. These daring flights from Nazi-occupied Europe would never have been possible but for the assistance of a hitherto secret British service: MI9. This small, dedicated and endlessly inventive team gave hope to the men who had fallen into enemy hands and aid to resistance fighters in occupied territory.
