Historia
Thailand 1996. The Year of The Rat. Pete, a young travel writer, wanders into a Bangkok go-go bar and meets the love of his life. Joy is the girl of his dreams, young, stunningly pretty, and one of the Zombie Bar's top-earning pole dancers. What follows is a roller-coaster ride of sex, drugs, and deception, as Pete discovers that his very own private dancer is not all that she claims to be. And that far from being the girl of his dreams, Joy is his own personal nightmare.

Historia
We've heard it said that there is no justice in this world. But what if there really was? What if the souls of murdered children were able to briefly return, inhabit adult bodies, and wreak revenge on the monstrous killers who stole their lives? Such is the unthinkable mystery confronting ex-NYPD detective Willow Wylde, fresh out of rehab and finally able to find a job running a Cold Case squad in suburban Detroit. When the two rookie cops assigned to him take an obsessive interest in a decades-old disappearance of a brother and sister, Willow begins to suspect something out of the ordinary is afoot.

stick with this fantasy detective story
Revisado: 11-06-22
I was baffled until I got about half way through this very imaginative story. Brilliant premise. It actually was written by a famous modern novelist employing the pen name Sarah Sparrow. He is one of my favorite authors. I might suggest plotting out a character chart to keep things straight. More will be revealed. I’m very glad I persevered.

Historia
Of the 30 million who fought in the eastern front of World War II, 8 million died, driven forward in suicidal charges, shattered by German shells and tanks. They were the men and women of the Red Army, a ragtag mass of soldiers who confronted Europe's most lethal fighting force and by 1945 had defeated it. Sixty years have passed since their epic triumph, but the heart and mind of Ivan - as the ordinary Russian soldier was called-remain a mystery. We know something about how the soldiers died, but nearly nothing about how they lived, how they saw the world, or why they fought.

Fantastic and fascinating.
Revisado: 05-26-22
Great writing, research and insights from the author and perfect narration. Highest recommendation for those interested in the history of the average Russian soldier’s actual experience in WW2. Added perspective of complicated Russian societal and political background wove through the military information. Masterful
