Good story. Didn’t find myself bored anywhere along the story arc. Nothing in story. But she’s been doing this for sometime now. Will she ever move up to captain? Maybe in a couple more books.

After over 3 hours, I had to stop listening to the overly dramatic reading... I was getting whiplash from all the flashbacks.. Since it appeared the plot was going nowhere anytime soon i pulled the book off my phone.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who likes depressing, no hope plots... This thing is filled with a dull recounting of past memories, that are full of regrets, sadness and fretting over decisions.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I am not sure... I have to find something to cleanse my brain after this...
How could the performance have been better?
I am not qualified enough to suggest anything in a literary way... Not sure if its the story itself, or the narration... Most likely both... Although the story often dictates the narration...
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I am not sure at this moment... I am over half way through and I don't think I can finish.. I keep waiting to see if things improve. NO IT JUST KEEPS SLOGGING ON... DEPRESSING... DARK... NO HOPE!

I might skip ahead to the end to see if there is any hope... But think my only reward will be the end of the book... I will think twice about reading anything from this author again.... Just not my cup of tea....

How did the narrator detract from the book?
When the story switches over to the male narration, OMG... The voice does not match anything with the character that you have built up in you mind to that point. Its so over the top, its distracting... I couldn't finish the book...

I was looking for some plan old SCI FI... This seemed to "me", to be a overly dramatic, convoluted romance novel... Yes is does have SCI FI, I couldn't get into it...

In part the overly dramatic tone was the narration... I tried to finish the book, I even jumped ahead to see if I could find a better spot... I just had to stop...

Not sure if the narration is the problem... The story is weak too... I kept having the feeling that the book is targeted to a teenage boy audience.
