Historia
On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305—Portland to Seattle—with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night...and into history. Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

A little out there
Revisado: 05-01-25
I love Pendergast. And I love the quirky situations that are found in the stories with this series. We need to be careful about our criticisms of the narrator. I almost did not read this book because of all the negative comments but since I’ve read all of the books today, I did not see how I could pass on this one. I found this narrator to be rather good actually. Maybe he’s not a Scott Brick or a rape reporter, but I did not find anything offensive with the way he ever tried the characters. Lesson well learned. I’m glad I took a chance.

Historia
At first, it looks like a disease. An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shock wave, unleashed by a stunning discovery - and what’s in jeopardy is not our minds but the very fabric of time itself. In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth - and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery...and the tools for fighting back.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Captivating
Revisado: 04-05-25
I’m not usually a fan of sci-fi but this book was highly recommended so I took at chance. The performance from Ray Porter was wonderful. so much so that I’m going to find another by him to listen to.

Awful narration
Revisado: 03-30-24
The story was weak, and the hero was a insulting and demeaning to women person. He often said “don’t do anything stupid “and other ridiculous comments. But the most irritating part of listening to this book was the narrator. What is up with the lisp? All the men she added a lisp when she was speaking as them. Drove me crazy.

A damn good story of grit and determination 🤘
Revisado: 02-18-22
I was lucky enough to attend one of Daron’s courses at UT, and his impact on my life has synergized with the likes of Angela Duckworth, Steven Covey, Napoleon Hill, and others. This is that self optimization and growth put into practice, and it’s a healthy 70/30 mix of storytelling and advice. An enjoyable listen with plenty of life lessons from an incredible human 🧡

Historia
Love has a history and we ride - sometimes rather helplessly - on its currents. Since around 1750, we have been living in a highly distinctive era in the history of love that we can call Romanticism. And it has been a disaster for love. Relationships challenges the assumptions of the Romantic view of love. It shows how to develop new attitudes that can lead to a psychologically mature vision of love.

Are straight people okay?
Revisado: 01-22-22
Excellent narration, just like the YouTube channel.
The content is a bit basic for people who communicate proactively in relationships and generally work to be the best possible partner (a la my partner and I). But there are some good points about contrasting views and reasonable expectations that I found helpful.
