There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).

Just not as good as Mystery Man

Like one reviewer said previously, I just kept waiting for something to happen. The story just kept going on and on with no real plot except the mundane story of their lives. It wasn't really all that romantic for me either. I loved the first book I listened to, which was Mystery Man-it was soooo good!!! And I guess I just was disappointed with this one. Kristen Ashley is a really good writer and I did keep listening. But it just wasn't what I was expecting after listening to Mystery Man, which was exciting, well-written and romantic.

What would have made Deeper better?
Stop going from then until now on every chapter. It got too annoying. I love romance, but you did'nt even know the characters yet and they were doing it all of the time.
