Great story
Revisado: 06-13-19
This book played out like a Black Mirror episode where a VR RPG is the basis for a new world government. Well written and engaging. The ending was satisfying.

Historia
Leveling up would be amazing...if it weren't so deadly. They injected me with a VR chip, a GPS tracker, and my first Seed. They gave me unbelievable powers. Then they sent me to fight. The monsters here are alien and vicious. There is a second moon in the sky. I watched a tree start moving and kill someone. And the other Players? They're even worse. I’m alone. I’m weak. And I’m scared. But I will cling to life by the tips of my bloody fingernails. Who is behind this twisted game? If I want to survive, I have to get stronger. But can I do it before the Game kills me?

I've read a few LITRPG series and really enjoyed this take on the genre. I really enjoyed the way everything carries over in to "real life". Having a female lead that was a nice change and Natalie Duke does a great job with the voices and tones she imparts in the characters. The end leaves you wanting to read the next book to find out what happens next. I can't wait to read the second book in the series.

Fun story, with an abrupt ending
Revisado: 02-12-19
This story was fun to listen to, but it seemed like a place holder in the series. If you haven't read the first two books in the series you'll be OK, the writer does a good job of re-explaining the basic concepts of the story line. I was enjoying the twists and turns but suddenly the book was just over. It ends kind of cliff hanger-ish, but not really since the "cliff hanger" is just a feeling by the main character. Large topics in the story were never really explained. I liked the story but not the end of the book.

Character progression through the series
Revisado: 05-01-18
I really enjoyed this series, "For the Guild" did not disappoint.
The main characters' progression throughout the series has been fun to experience.
The narrator does a good job of giving each character a different voice.
I'm really enjoying seeing where the main group of characters goes next and how they each use their own abilities to help each other out. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed the constant guessing this story provided. You are never sure what is going to happen next. I purchased this book because I have always liked the movie with Tom Cruise, but the movie pales in comparison. I will definitely recommend this book to my friends.

Fun story, not a fan of the narrator
Revisado: 04-05-18
The story was fun, but it was kind of hard to listen to. I can't describe it but the narrator just sounded sarcastic the whole time to me. She did a good job with different voices for most of the characters, but I just couldn’t get over the feeling that she was rolling her eyes while reading.
Some other reviews mentioned that the editors did a poor job with this book and I tend to agree. I can’t count how many times I thought to myself that a sentence was redundant.
I enjoyed the interplay between the modern world and the fantastical, it was fun to hear it come together. I think the beginning was a little rushed to get in some back story but it worked itself out after a bit.
Overall I enjoyed the story, I think a little more editing and maybe a different narrator would have helped a lot.
