Historia
It’s autumn in the town of Harrow, but something besides the season is changing there. Because in that town there is an orchard, and in that orchard, seven most unusual trees. And from those trees grows a new sort of apple: strange, beautiful, with skin so red it’s nearly black. Take a bite of one of these apples, and you will desire only to devour another. And another. You will become stronger. More vital. More yourself, you will believe. But then your appetite for the apples and their peculiar gifts will keep growing—and become darker.

I wanted a horror story, not a woke lecture.
Revisado: 08-17-24
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and politics, and of course some of one's positions will carry through in one's writing. But if you removed all the liberal rants and shilling to just about every "woke" philosophy, this book would easily be cut from 18 hrs to MAYBE 6. The idea behind the story was mid to good, but no where near good enough to make up for the sociopolitical bludgeoning.
An absolute waste of a credit. I will never purchase anything from this author again.
The performances were okay, some better than others, nothing remarkable, but only a few sections where the cadence or inflection was truly bad.

Historia
When family man, Joe Crawford, confronts a young mother abusing her toddler in a gas station parking lot, he has no idea of the chain reaction he's setting in motion. How could he suspect the young mother is part of an ancient fire cult, a sinister group of killers that will destroy anyone who threatens one of its members? When the little boy is placed in a foster home, the young mother burns herself alive in grief and rage...and the cult's fanatics begin their mission of terror as Joe and his family are plagued by otherwise inexplicable events.

Horrible narration
Revisado: 12-12-22
I couldn't stand listening to the narrator another minute. I'll try reading it instead.
I can't address the story as I didn't make it past chapter 4. The narrator would be find reading a scientific journal or instructions, but not fiction. He's flat and way too slow. Enunciation is important, but this was ridiculous. So slow it was grating, and no inflection.

Historia
With Christmas around the corner, Miss Caroline Anderson hoped to persuade a London tavern owner to carry the Home's Widow's Brew - only to discover the dastard was more interested in her ankles than her ale! To her further annoyance, her stagecoach back to Little Puddledon is waylaid by louts and a snow-covered ditch. Amid a nasty storm, Caro seeks shelter at a nearby estate - only to be greeted by Viscount Oakland, a.k.a. Nick, her brother's childhood friend - and her schoolgirl crush. Now, he's the half-dressed host of what is clearly a holiday bacchanal.

Horrible!!!!
Revisado: 12-06-20
I wanted a Christmas romance not a diatribe on rape culture and trauma! I couldn't finish chapter 5. Horrible! The narrator was the only good thing. Do not waste your $ or time unless you enjoy wallowing in a lecture about the evils of men always and everywhere!
